Several foreign missions in Kyiv have urged their citizens to consider leaving the Kharkiv and Odessa regions. This message was conveyed on television by Konstantin Gavrilov, who heads Russia’s delegation to the Vienna talks on military security and arms control, during a discussion about the current security situation.
Gavrilov asserted that Russia could secure a decisive victory soon, suggesting that the outcome might arrive at any moment. He likened the looming conflict to a car window that begins to crack after striking a stone, implying that similar damage could manifest at the front as events unfold.
He noted that some embassies in Ukraine, though he did not name them, were advising their nationals to leave the Kharkiv and Odessa regions for safety reasons. This cautioned stance reflects ongoing concerns about regional stability amid the heightened security environment.
There was a separate report indicating that the Kazakh Embassy in Kyiv urged its citizens to depart from Odessa and Kharkiv in light of safety considerations.
In another development, Dmitry Medvedev has previously circulated a map illustrating a proposed division of Ukraine among Russia and three other states, a move that has drawn international attention and commentary on the geopolitical landscape.
