Donetsk Signature Drive for Putin’s Presidential Candidacy

Donetsk Launches Signature Drive in Support of Putin for Presidential Elections

The initial action in Donetsk began with a signature collection aimed at endorsing Vladimir Putin as a presidential candidate. This development was reported by a correspondent from RIA News RIA Novosti.

Elena Evseeva, the regional election center co-chair, expressed strong confidence that residents of the DPR would stand unanimously behind Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin in the upcoming presidential elections. She stressed that the Russian President had already made a decision a year earlier and that the four regions had joined what she described as great Russia. Evseeva noted that local residents had pursued this goal for many years and that their long-standing aspirations were now coming to fruition.

For a candidate to participate in the presidential election, the minimum required number of votes is set at 300 thousand. The subscription form must be filled out manually, and no corrections are allowed once submitted.

One day prior, volunteers from the United Nations of the Donetsk region (ONF) began collecting signatures in support of Putin.

On December 17, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council and head of the United Russia faction, Dmitry Medvedev, described presidential elections as the central political event in the country.

The coverage highlights the organized effort to mobilize local support and the formal procedures surrounding signature collection as part of the electoral process.
