Cesar Sanchez stated, “As the People’s Party, we regret that the present mayor chose to leave the popular group and break his loyalty to the party that has supported him as a councilor for twelve years, a tenure that culminates in his bid for the mayorship.” He noted that he has worked closely for more than a decade with Ana Sala, who is leading the Somos Calpe slate. “I will never speak ill of Ana Sala, but there is no reason to disrupt the PP’s stability or jeopardize the municipality’s steady governance. Our voters and neighbors deserve leadership that prioritizes policy over personal ego. Politics is a serious matter,” he added.
