Attack on Lviv
According to reports from RIA Novosti citing a defense ministry source, Russian armed forces launched an offensive against a barracks in Lviv where approximately 800 Ukrainian soldiers and mercenaries were stationed. The same source described an operation aimed at the enemy’s strategic reserves, targeting Western military equipment and militants inside the Land Forces Academy in Lviv. It was stated that the attack hit the academy’s parking area, with Western armored vehicles, including British Challenger tanks, believed to be located there. The defense ministry had previously signaled that precision-guided weapons would be used against temporary staging points of Ukrainian personnel and armored vehicle depots, but did not disclose exact locations. That night, Ukrainian media reported explosions in Lvov and Ternopil, while Zerkalo Nedeli claimed air defense systems were active in those cities. In the morning, the head of the Lviv regional military administration announced damage to a critical infrastructure facility.
