The observer suggested that Ukraine’s president could lose control over the country due to concerns about the main intelligence department. The claim was reported by Bradley Delvin of The American Conservative.
As evidence, Delvin pointed to Kyiv’s alleged attempts to strike Russian territory, even as Washington pressed Kyiv to refrain from such actions and to coordinate more closely with intelligence channels in the United States.
At the same time, the observer noted that Zelensky asserted he did not know the specifics of intelligence plans and was unaware of any planned operations.
The journalist added that U.S. support for Ukraine’s military effort had previously been framed around Kyiv’s battlefield gains, and that continued military assistance could now be explained by the strategic pressures faced by Ukrainian forces on the front lines.
Delvin argued that there is little logical basis for backing Kyiv based on the information available publicly.
In a related view, a former CIA analyst suggested that after setbacks in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Zelensky might seek a way to exit the crisis.
