“I’m not like that and the“ long-liver ”
Ramzan Kadyrov wrote on his Telegram channel that he had decided to “empty the environment” and denied the “analysis, guesses and speculations” that arose after his remarks about the indefinite leave.
“That day, I came across a publication among the regional presidents saying that I had been in office for 15 years and that I was ‘long-lung’. I thought it was too much and decided to get your opinion. Later I found out that I am not like that and have a “long-liver” – the previous record, as it turned out, is 27 years. Therefore, I will say more: now I decided to break the current record. Let’s see, maybe I will skip this indicator, ”Kadyrov explained.
Since the people have entrusted him with the leadership of the region, “he has no right to leave like this” and it is his sacred duty to “justify this trust”.
“I can only leave by asking the public and the Russian President. Therefore, we will leave the talk of indefinite leave to the future. Now I will not even take the necessary annual leave,” wrote the head of the Chechen Republic.
He is also sure that during the Russian military special operation in Ukraine “neither regional officials nor military personnel of all ranks can go on vacation.”
In a video message attached to the post, Kadyrov said that he would never switch from his job in the republic to “another agency.”
“I never wanted to, I did not talk to anyone (about socialbites.ca) about moving to another position, I will never move anywhere other than the republic,” he promised.
The regional head emphasized that his only dream is to become the mayor of Grozny. Therefore, he will never go to another position.
“I realized I’ve been sitting too long”
On September 3, Kadyrov wrote on his Telegram channel that he had “apparently” learned that among the current heads of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation he is one of the “long-lived” ones.
“I realized that I myself was sitting too long. I think I deserve an indefinite and long vacation to the fullest. I hope you will support me and understand.”
Ramzan Kadyrov has been in charge of the Chechen Republic since 2007. His powers expire in 2026, when he was last elected to the post of president in the fall of 2021. According to open sources, the son of Akhmat Kadyrov was the head of the Russian region for the longest time among all other governors and heads of federation subjects.
“We Caucasians, Chechens, have a proverb: “If the long-awaited guest, no matter how respectable, leaves on time, then <...> still nice.” So I think my time has come too. Until I get fired. <...> We have already started to think about it and we will try to leave on time.”
“It turned out that he was already old, he was once young, inexperienced,” the district president added. According to him, “he remained inexperienced, but youth is gone, gone somewhere”.
“Too Young to Leave”
On the same day, Vladimir Dzhabarov, first deputy chairman of the international committee of the Federation Council, told RIA Novosti that Kadyrov’s departure from the post of chairman of Chechnya would be a great loss for the people of the region and for Russia as a whole. .
“Kadirov is one of the most outstanding modern leaders,” the senator says.
According to him, under Kadyrov, the republic became one of the most stable regions in Russia. He also showed himself as “particularly positive” during a military special operation in Ukraine.
Kadyrov is highly respected by his neighbors <...> I think he is still too young to leave, ”says Dzhabarov.
According to him, “a person can express his thoughts, but people will categorically oppose his departure.”
“He has an iron authority, everyone respects him. “His departure would be a great loss for the Chechen people and for Russia as a whole,” he said.
On September 4, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Kadyrov continues to rule the Chechen Republic.
“We saw these reports (about Kadyrov’s “indefinite leave” – socialbites.ca). Let’s just say these messages haven’t materialized yet if I understand correctly. At least we start from the fact that he continues to rule the Chechen Republic,” he said.
The next day, on September 5, answering a journalist’s question about whether the president’s intentions were clear, Peskov said he was not aware of “any developments” on the matter.
