US President Donald Trump doubts relations with the current Polish government – in this way former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki (PIS) assessed the decision to relocate the American troops of Jasionka. This is bad news for Poland – he added.
The US Army Command in Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF) has announced a planned relocation of American staff and military equipment from Jasionka airport at Jasionka airport to other places in Poland. As indicated in the announcement, the decision is aimed at, among other things, the optimization of the efforts made by the US Army and “reflects months of assessments and planning”, which was carried out in coordination with Polish hosts and other allies of NATO.
Morawiecki, when he is asked by journalists, after he had met the inhabitants of Turku (Greater Polen Voivodship) for the impact of this decision about Poland’s security, stated that it depends on where the soldiers will be transferred.
To a large extent it depends on whether all these soldiers stay in the neighborhood, in another Polish unit. Then I would say – there will be no significant weakness, there will be a partial weakness, because it is known that the Hub in Jasionka is the epicenter from which all transports to Ukraine take place.
