It seems that the district court in Warsaw has given a verdict – a decision to the higher court. He ignored the finality and purpose of the decision of the Warsaw Court of Appeal of July 31, which decided that Father Olszewski and two clerks will be released at the end of August.

It was quite a long hearing, with two hours of speeches by lawyers, and the court ignored everything. There were many arguments. He did not refer to the previous ruling of the Court at all, even though he had it in the files. Defense lawyers and the prosecutor referred to it, but the court did not. The prosecutor even said that he did not understand the nature of res judicata, because he had a new application. I want to say that it was precisely the authority of Judge Ewa Furtak-Leszczyńska of the Court of Appeal, who gave a comprehensive justification for her decision, that required us to refer to it.
