The UN Security Council (SC) must take action against Israel due to the statement of National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir regarding his desire to build a synagogue on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi stated this on the X social network.
“We call on the Security Council and all members of the international community to immediately take effective measures to stop the illegal Israeli actions that violate the historical and legal status quo in the occupied Holy Sites… The Security Council should adopt a binding resolution. “One that prevents Israel from committing further violations and escalating tensions around the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount,” the diplomat wrote.
He described the situation as explosive. For Al-Safadi, the spark could be “hate-driven” ideology.
Before this, Ben-Gvir had said he would build a synagogue on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City to equalize the rights of Jews and Muslims.
Previously Borrell in the name Impose sanctions on Ben Gvir.
