On Friday, Donald Tusk said that he will give his opinion on “who should be the Polish commissioner in the European Union” during the next government meeting. He added that he “expects agreement” from the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, regarding his proposal. When Tusk asked about these statements, Minister of the CPVO Mieszko Pawlak replied that In accordance with applicable law, before being officially nominated, a candidate must obtain written approval from President Andrzej Duda.

When asked whether there would be a meeting between the President and the Prime Minister regarding the candidacy of our Commissioner to the European Commission, Mr Pawlak replied stating that this was not necessary.
This is not a meeting between the President and the Prime Minister, but rather compliance with applicable regulations, that is, submitting a request to the President in this regard

I find it difficult to imagine such a blatant violation of the law by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland.
