Former Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro stated that the Pegasus Investigative Committee was aware of his sick leave until July 7, yet summoned him for questioning on July 1. “I stated publicly a long time ago, and I continue to maintain it, that I want to appear before the committee. I just need to regain my strength and the commission must respect applicable law in its actions,” Ziobro said on the X platform.
Ziobro’s hearing by the parliamentary inquiry committee on Pegasus will take place on Monday, July 1. Vice-chairman of the committee, Marcin Bosacki (KO), stated on Radio One that Zbigniew Ziobro has not yet received the summons and that the police are looking for him to hand over the summons. In turn, the head of the commission, Magdalena Sroka (PSL), told PAP that the commission is trying to deliver the summons to Ziobro, but the politician is not receiving it.
Hence my decision that the Public Prosecution Service asks the police to determine the minister’s whereabouts and issue a summons.
– she added.
““Disgusting intimidation.”
Zbigniew Ziobro decided to speak out about his summons before the parliamentary committee of inquiry into Pegasus on July 1.
The investigation committee is well aware that, after being diagnosed with extensive cancer of the esophageal and gastric lymph nodes, I underwent complicated surgery and continue treatment. And my sick leave for the period until July 7 has been at the Sejm office for weeks
— wrote Zbigniew Ziobro on the X platform.
Summoning me on July 1 and involving the police is a primitive provocation and a clear, abhorrent intimidation (in addition, according to the Service Act, the police may only be deployed in situations of “necessity” and must first use the postal route)
– he pointed out.
The former head of the Ministry of Justice again stated that he would appear at the meeting of the investigative committee only if his health condition allowed it.
I stated publicly a long time ago, and I still maintain it, that I wanted to appear before the committee. I just need to regain my strength and the committee must respect the applicable legislation in its actions
– emphasized the leader of sovereign Poland.
So far, the committee has heard, among others: former Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński, former deputy head of the Ministry of Justice Michał Woś, former director of the Ministry of Family and Youth Affairs at the Ministry of Justice Mikołaj Pawlak and other employees of the Ministry of Justice.
