In Russia, the Forthing Yacht minivan has seen a substantial price drop of 790 thousand rubles after production was localized at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. This information came from the press service of Ixen Motors Rus, the distributor of the Forthing brand in the country.
The reduction is attributed to a large batch order of car kits and the implementation of subsidy programs, which allowed the price to fall to 3.4 million rubles. The change marks a shift from assembly abroad to local production that leverages the small node production method to streamline costs while maintaining build quality.
Alongside the price cut, the Yacht has received Russia-specific features. The multimedia system has been localized, a heated steering wheel has been added, and the windshield now includes improved heating. Cabin changes include replacing the second-row two captain chairs with a three-seat sofa, expanding seating flexibility for families and groups.
In a separate update, Ixen Motors Rus announced a new price for the Forthing T5 crossover in Russia. The model will be offered at 1.9 million rubles, after a prior plan to price it at 2.3 million rubles. The company cited subsidy programs and an increase in local production as reasons for the price adjustment, with official sales expected to begin soon.
The T5 will be equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine delivering 144 horsepower, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain choice aims to balance performance with efficiency for daily driving and longer trips alike.
Earlier disclosures noted that the Atom electric car had seen its price rise by 500 thousand rubles before official sales commenced, reflecting market dynamics in the broader auto sector. [Attribution: Ixen Motors Rus and related press communications]
