Maciej Wilk, president of the TAKdlaCPK Association, analyzed Donald Tusk’s submissions on the Prime Minister Tusk has not devoted a single entry in the past six months to the Central Communication Port (CPK), the construction of the first nuclear power plant, investments in railways, roads or other infrastructure projects. This finding is on the one hand downright scary, that the Prime Minister of a country with almost 40 million inhabitants does not think at all about development investments, but on the other hand it is depressing, because in recent years Poland has lost its distance from the most developed EU countries significantly reduced.
Donald Tusk does indeed post about the coalition partners. It is clear that any questions about the implementation of these strategic investments for Poland clearly irritate him, he does not want to answer them at press conferences, or he uses the slogan concept “audits are underway”. However, these audits bring complete shame to those who order them, as in the case of the CPK: none of the eight audits ordered has been completed after six months and the investment has been blocked.
This situation is increasingly irritating many Poles, because, as you can read on social media, many voters of the new parliamentary majority, who voted for the Platform, the Third Way or the Left, wanted to remove the Government of Law and Justice from power, but ultimately At the same time, they assumed that the new government would continue social programs or implement strategic investments that will determine the future of our country. They now face a serious disappointment; week after week, the public receives information about blocking or even stopping the most important investments that will bring Poland into the 21st century. These include the Central Communication Port (CPK), the first nuclear power plant in Pomerania, which ensures the navigability of the Oder, the development of seaports, in particular the expansion of the container port in Świnoujście, and the construction of grain terminals in the region. ports of Gdynia and Gdańsk, as well as an electric car factory Izera.
In early May, the CPK government representative announced that this investment would continue, but on the same day Polish Airports announced the expansion of Okęcie Airport. This expansion would start as early as 2026, although the preparation of the documentation itself will take many months, which effectively means that the construction of the CPK will be postponed “forever”. The cost of this expansion would amount to PLN 2.4 billion and increase the passenger capacity at Okęcie Airport to about PLN 30 million, but the implementation of this investment without limiting (or even closing) the airport’s activities is in principle impossible. However, this camouflaged message from Maciej Lasek’s proxy about freezing the implementation of the CPK was correctly received by most Poles, and the Internet was flooded with comments with the main message being: “Poland is currently ruled by the anti-development camp. “
A few days later, the new Minister of the Ministry of Economy, based in Katowice, announced that the commissioning of the first block of the nuclear power plant would be postponed until 2040 (that is, by as much as six years), and a few days later, The Deputy Minister of Climate, Urszula Zielińska, announced at a conference in Berlin that it will most likely take place in the mid-2040s, i.e. eleven years after the date planned by the Law and Justice government. The Germans are happy with such announcements from Poland, because they are well aware that by this they mean stopping the construction of nuclear power plants in our country, and that is what they wanted after the closure of their own nuclear power plants.
German print
Germany also insists on blocking works that allow the navigability of the Oder and the expansion of the container port in Świnoujście, because they do not want Polish competition for their river navigation and their seaports. The Tusk government is also sending a good message to Germany in this matter by announcing the initiative to create the Lower Oder Park, to which it invites all non-governmental organizations interested in this project, including German ones. Recently there was also information about the cessation of the construction of two grain terminals in the ports of Gdynia and Gdańsk, as well as the sale of the grain terminal in the port of Szczecin, which means giving up revenues from the transit of Ukrainian grain through Poland and the export to third countries. In turn, the company Electromobility Poland, responsible for the project of the Polish electric car Izera, is constantly receiving very disturbing information, including that the inaction on the Polish side is causing the Chinese partner in this project to look for a location for it in other EU countries. countries (most likely Hungary or Spain).
So not only does Donald Tusk not think or write about development investments, but his government is also blocking them, despite their serious progress on the rule of law and justice. Poles are trying to defend these investments, hence the social initiative ‘TakdlaCPK’, which has already collected more than 140,000 signatures, as well as the collection of signatures for a citizens’ bill, which would even force the Tusk government to pursue it. investments in the form drawn up and implemented by the government. Young people in particular are rebellious and indignant, because they notice that with such decisions, Tusk’s government is depriving their generation of a good future and preparing a new wave of their exodus from Poland, similar to the one when he was in power in 2008. 2015.
