Drivers, pack your pockets! Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski said he would recommend introducing paid parking in the city center on weekends. As you can see, the town hall is still not enough.
Paid parking also available at the weekend?
Trzaskowski was asked how to solve the situation with the mass of cars that motorists park on the streets of Powiśle and Praga on weekends, for example by using the new pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the Vistula River.
We have often talked about the need to talk about paid parking on weekends in Śródmieście, because the occupancy rate is huge. We will be able to discuss this subject with the new municipal council
– said Trzaskowski.
He notes that analyzes have been carried out and on that basis a discussion can be had and decisions can be considered.
I will recommend such a decision. I am in favor of this solution, but step by step
– added.
Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm
The paid unattended parking zone is valid from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (except on May 2, December 24 and 31). Parking is free on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. The minimum parking fee is PLN 0.50, which equates to a 10-minute stay. You pay PLN 4.5 for the first hour of parking.
So the mayor of the capital is no longer happy that people want to visit his walkway in large numbers? Well, Rafał Trzaskowski proposes extending parking fees also to weekends as the only solution. It is a shame that the city has not built underground parking garages that could really help, as promised in the previous election campaign. But as you can see, the easiest way to reach the driver’s pockets!
