The guests of the “Salon Journalists” on Telewizja in Poland discussed the hundred days of Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s government and the vast majority of his unfulfilled promises. “If it comes to a hundred details, I would like to point out that the electorate of the ruling coalition is a tough eight-star electorate and – as research has shown – these details had no meaning for them,” said sociologist Marek Grabowski.
Jacek Karnowski’s guests in the “Salon Dziennikarski” of Polish television were Marek Markiewicz, Andrzej Potocki and Marek Grabowski.
Bad effects of the coalition
Andrzej Potocki noted that it was clear from the very beginning that the implementation of Donald Tusk’s promises from the election campaign were just pipe dreams that would not be feasible.
Failure to keep promises will undoubtedly hurt them to some extent. The goal was ambitious, because to achieve a hundred details in a hundred days, you would have to be Donald Tusk to propose such a thing, because it is known in advance that he will not stick to it.
– he assessed.
Eight out of every hundred, or a total of eight percent of what was done, was criminal activity
– added the columnist of the weekly magazine “Sieci”.
Jacek Karnowski, who moderated the discussion, suggested that the parliamentary majority coalition had “killed the constitution.”
The so-called dual judges were established as a result of a resolution of the Sejm, which revoked its election and led to new elections. It was illegal and then the theory was promoted that you become a judge if the president proves what is true. Moreover, I can quote such wise men that I fear to mention them
– said lawyer Markiewicz.
Once, when the Sejm forgot – it was probably 1991 – the indexation of pensions was implemented. Suchocka’s government was in power at that time, suddenly someone came and said, “the government will collapse.” So the Presidium met and declared that it was a shame to vote with two hands (because editor Metsugow then caught people voting with two hands). “We have to repeat the vote” and there was no indexation anyway
– he remembered.
Sociologist Marek Grabowski from the Social Changes studio estimated that Donald Tusk’s failure to fulfill election promises will, in his opinion, have the greatest impact on his coalition partners, especially on the Third Way.
When it comes to a hundred details, I would like to point out that the ruling coalition electorate is a tough eight-star electorate and that these details, as research has shown, had no meaning to them. Removal, retaliation and revenge were their main point and PO politicians clearly played on that and are still playing on it. The hundred details problem may primarily affect the Left and the Third Way as they tried to add some substance to the program. Absent this, all that remains is frustration, which is visible in polls among the voters of the PO coalition partners.
– he said.
Political capital
Jacek Karnowski delved into the topic by asking the guests whether Civic Platform and its supporters used up their political capital faster or slower after the elections.
Now let us see how the rural movement is involved in abortion and in the conflict with farmers. Farmers who fight for general issues see that they have no support in their people’s party, which has a deputy prime minister in the government. And something has to be done with this thing
– well-known lawyer Markiewicz.
The tension between PSL and the farmers’ and agricultural electorate is becoming increasingly serious. PSL will be a party of people from small towns, not to mention the core of this party. This situation mainly affects the party members, the PO coalition partners, and Third Road is mainly the junction
– added Andrzej Potocki.
PO maintains its support level and maintains its support level at eight stars, later tactically changed to hearts, while the Third Way crumbles as it is neither a third option nor contributes anything substantial. In fact, it is under the thumb of Donald Tusk, whose pressure is so strong that it is already crushing
– said Marek Grabowski.
