“Minister (of Climate Paulina) Hennig-Kloska (Poland 2050) openly admitted that the government, when talking about a “30 PLN increase for electricity”, refers to estimates for single households. This means that from July most Polish families will pay bills much higher than PLN 30,” said MEP Beata Szydło, who shared the ministry head’s statement on neo-TVP Info.
At the end of 2023, the government of Donald Tusk presented a bill aimed at further freezing energy and heat prices for consumers. It was subsequently decided that the mechanisms to protect households, sensitive customers and local authorities would be in place until the end of June 2024. This means that this would happen from July 1 this year. Energy prices should be at least partially deregulated.
Minister Hennig-Kloska openly admitted that the government, when talking about an “increase of 30 PLN for electricity”, refers to estimates regarding… single-person households. This means that from July onwards, most Polish families will pay bills much higher than PLN 30
– Beata Szydło noticed.
As she assessed in an article on the X platform: “The only specific thing about Tusk is specific pay increases.”
And this is just the beginning. Let’s not forget that as a result of the Green Deal, electricity prices will rise regularly for years to come
– said the PiS member of the European Parliament.
Hennig-Kloska reveals estimates
She drew attention to the words of the head of the Ministry of Climate, spoken on neo-TVP Info, about the increase in electricity prices from July.
I would like prices to increase no more than PLN 30 per month if the system changes
– said Hennig-Kloska.
We estimate the average consumption of a one-person retiree household; the problem of energy poverty is also greatest there
– explained the minister, showing that the government of Donald Tusk is mainly exposing pensioners to the deterioration of the situation. Families will have to take into account even higher bills.
Increase in electricity prices
Previously, Hennig-Kloska also announced that the Economic Committee of the Council of Ministers would consider solutions regarding electricity prices on Wednesday
She also said there would be support for people suffering from energy poverty.
We are talking with the Minister of Finance about energy vouchers, which will provide subsidies to the poorest households, Hennig-Kloska said.
She said that the problem of energy poverty in Poland affects 3 to 4 million households, which is twice the average in Europe.
Does the December 13 Coalition want to take something away through wage increases and then give bonuses to select people to cover them? Maybe the people of Tusk will explain later that there is no money in the budget for this? How do they plan to protect Poles from further increases due to the Green Deal? Do they also prepare bonuses for this?
