“We want local governments not to look at political views, because a hole in the sidewalk has no political views,” Andrzej Śliwka said at the PiS local government convention. During his speech, the leader of the party, Jarosław Kaczyński, said that since December 13 last year we have been dealing with a government that constantly says “no”.
Law and Justice launched a campaign before the local government elections in Szeligi, near Warsaw. The group published a series of short spots on social media under the slogan ‘We are for yes’. PiS MP Andrzej Śliwka, candidate for mayor of Elbląg, spoke during the meeting with voters.
I can say this: I am mature enough to become president of Elbląg. I see a lot of great local government officials here, a lot of young people that I know and appreciate. I know these are the people who will best care for our local community and our small homelands
– emphasized the Law and Justice politician.

Andrzej Śliwka, until recently deputy minister of state assets, spoke about an event that took place in Elbląg.
A year ago, young parents in Elbląg contacted me. I am the parent of 3-year-old Jadzia and 1-year-old Ignaś. Nothing appeals to a father more than the desire to provide for the future of his children. Such as caring for your child. Parents from a kindergarten in Elbląg contacted me
– said MP Śliwka.
The city’s mayor came to the conclusion that he would close the kindergarten because the building did not meet safety standards. Instead of looking for a solution, instead of talking, he chose a decision that was the worst possible
— Śliwka recalled at the convention.
They invited me to a meeting. I did not talk to the parents of children from this kindergarten about political views, but about what we can do so that the youngest residents of Elbląg can return to the place they love so much. To people who care about them in a unique way. Despite the fact that the president of Elbląg behaved so arrogantlyThere are more people of good will. We came together, beyond political division. There were a former soldier, a teacher and representatives of the courts. We had one common goal to save this kindergarten
— Śliwka did not hide his satisfaction and recalled that many investments in Elbląg were carried out with financing from the United Right government.
The PiS government has co-financed the renovation of this kindergarten from the strategic investment program. And this kindergarten will continue to function. We all want local governments to ignore political views
– emphasized the politician.
The PiS candidate believes that political views should not hinder the functioning of local governments.
We want local governments not to look at political views, because a hole in the sidewalk has no political views. This is the path of a lady who voted for a party other than PiS, and this is the path of a young mother with a stroller who voted for PiS. In local governments, we ensure that all residents live better. Let’s live on a higher level. We say YES to development, to focus on real, good education and to tackle real problems. Not the made-up things you see in one-sided TV broadcasts
— for Śliwka, school and the education of the young generation is the most important thing.
We need to tackle issues that don’t appear on TV. For example, psychiatric help for children and adolescents. This is something I said would be my election promise. Focus on education because this is the role of local government and healthcare. Ensuring that the school’s infrastructure is at the highest level. Support for teachers who have been misled by the current government.
– reminded the candidate.
On April 7, we will go to the polls and elect our representatives. Law and Justice is credible and sticks to its words. It is important that we talk to our opponents, those who are skeptical of Pi, who voted for the Third Way and other formations. We have arguments. By not governing in Elbląg we created the ego that over 250 million PLN went to the city, which suffered greatly from the administrative reforms. There is no major investment in Elbląg that would not work without government support. What if the mayor represented all residents?
– declared the PiS candidate for mayor of Elbląg.
Dear friends, let’s be together! As Natalia said, this campaign requires multiple pairs of shoes. We will win!
– Andrzej Śliwka concluded his speech.
