Members of TVP’s statutory supervisory board planned a gathering at the TVP building on Woronicza Street. Yet entry was barred. Security and police only permitted PiS MPs Andrzej Śliwka and Krzysztof Szczucki, who arrived with a parliamentary intervention, to pass through.
When the chairman of the supervisory board and its members cannot access the company headquarters, observers call it an unimaginable scandal.
– said the PiS MP in front of the TVP headquarters Andrzej Śliwka. His remark was captured by various media, including wPolsce.pl television.
MPs only
– stated the guard, allowing Andrzej Śliwka and Krzysztof Szczucki into the TVP offices.
Szczucki: ‘We were not allowed into the rooms where the documentation is kept’
At present, this stage of parliamentary intervention has concluded with MP Andrzej Śliwka. They were not permitted to enter the rooms where the documents they sought were stored.
– said Krzysztof Szczucki after leaving the TVP building.
We attempted to speak with the so-called liquidator. The liquidator is not serving at this moment. Our aim was to discuss what happened and the registration court’s decision. There was no willingness from that side.
– said Andrzej Śliwka.
We operate within the law, not against it. They — as seen today after the registration court’s ruling — have breached the law not only in the TVP case but also in the Polskie Radio matter. The same argument will apply to the resolutions adopted by Sienkiewicz regarding the liquidation of TVP and Polish Radio. It is clear that this is a classic tactic to sidestep legal requirements. Those responsible will face accountability, and in the case of a politician, political accountability before the State Tribunal.
