Marcin Romanowski from Sovereign Poland summarized the activities of the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy. He reminded Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk who he was and what the story of Major Józef Kuraś “Ogień” was.
Romanowski referred on social media to the minister’s decision that the Office for Veterans and Victims of Oppression would not organize events commemorating Józef Kuraś “Ogeń” and the Świętokrzyska Brigade of the NSZ.
The minister’s companion, @AgaBak, included Józef Kuraś “Ogień”, whose father, wife and 2.5-year-old son were murdered by the Germans among his Nazi collaborators. During the occupation his unit fought successfully against the Germans, and after 1945 against the communists
– wrote the politician.
Memory destruction
Romanowski also recalled why the communists fought to destroy the memory of Major “Ogeń”.
More than 60 UB officers, more than 40 militia members and 27 NKVD officers died in the battle against the “Błyskawica” group led by Kuraś in 1945–1947. This is why the communists wanted to erase the memory of “Fire”, whose burial place has not been found to this day. It is sad that the current government refers to the Stalinist practice of eradicating the memory of steadfast soldiers who fought for an independent Poland.
