It would be easier to win against PiS if the entire opposition went to the (local) government elections together – said Włodzimierz Czarzasty, co-chair of the Left, in RMF 24. He added that the Left aims for 10 percent. votes, which would mean that “PiS will not govern in any assembly.”
One opposition list
When Czarzasty was asked about the left’s independent start in the local elections, he admitted that “it would certainly be easier to win against PiS if the entire opposition, that is, four parties, went to the elections together.”
PO assesses the situation this way: it will get enough votes to achieve a satisfactory result. If we had gone for PO, this result would certainly have been better thanks to d’Hondt
– he said.
First, Szymon (Hołownia) and Władek (Kosiniak-Kamysz) decided to go together. The Civic Platform assesses the situation so that it receives enough votes to achieve a satisfactory result. If we had gone for PO, this result would definitely have been better
– said the co-chairman of the left.
Czarzasty expects 10 percent.
He added that if the left “takes 10 percent,” which he believes – as he claims – PiS will not govern in any local assemblies.
So what shall we do? We take 10 percent
– he emphasized.
The municipal elections will take place on Sunday, April 7. The second round of direct elections for municipal heads, mayors and city presidents – April 21.

Funds from KPO
Czarzasty was also asked about KPO funds for Poland, which Donald Tusk promised to release after the parliamentary elections.
I am very concerned that the KPO funds have still not reached Poland, because we were one of the few formations that voted for this KPO money. But I have good news: yesterday there was a coalition meeting, I have information that these financial resources will be sent to Poland
– said the politician.
The problem with what he did, and I say this without any emotion, with the Polish PiS legislation is so big that there is much more to be ‘undone’ than we initially thought. If you were to ask me when these funds, the first tranches, will arrive – I think within a month
– added.
Third road brake?
The conversation also touched on the issue of the abortion law promised by the left. Czarzasty stated that work on this issue is blocked by the Third Way.
There is an idea that these projects [dot. aborcji], which are currently being put together – and I think there may be another project submitted – refer it to the committee and work on these projects. I think it has to happen quickly
– said Włodzimierz-tsarzasty.
We will do everything we can to obtain a majority on these issues. But it must be said clearly: until the left has 15 to 17 percent in the Sejm. vote it will be very difficult to do this, because both PSL and Polska 2050 are clear obstacles in this matter from our point of view
– he said.
What about CPK?
The deputy marshal was also asked about the central communications port. He pointed out that “huge investments always cause total controversy at the beginning, when these decisions are made.”
We are always happy when we build them. That is why I am waiting for the audit conducted by Mr. Lasek. I know he does. From him
– he pointed.
I believe that this project can be very coherent economically. It is very important when it comes to railway lines and transportation
– said the left-wing MP, adding that continuity in politics is an important issue.
There is no point in supporting idiotic projects, but it seems to me that when it comes to the CPK, some politicians are too quick to decide on this issue and express their opinions.
– said Włodzimierz-tsarzasty.
I warn all my friends against expressing too hasty opinions on this matter. It’s entirely possible that this is a reasonable design. When it comes to the transport side, certainly. I think when it comes to the airport, this issue should also be taken into consideration
– said the Tsarzasty of Włodzimierz.
