Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz assured that the restoration of the rule of law is one of the foundations of the coalition and announced further steps on this issue – he referred to President Andrzej Duda’s position that he will not allow the verification of judges appointed during his presidency allow .
The restoration of the rule of law is one of the foundations of our coalition, this is what we agreed, this is what the voters expect from us (…) and we promised it, this is a necessity
– said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of National Defense, in Wierzchosławice, when journalists asked him to comment on President Andrzej Duda’s words. According to him, there was a situation “where the fuses were blown”.
The Constitutional Court was annulled, the law on the Supreme Court and the National Council of the Judiciary was amended many times. The justice system had to be ‘super-healed’, functioning perfectly, and what do we have? Very long procedures, increasingly high legal costs, lack of a sense of justice, extraordinary complaint, which should have been the salvation for many, does not work and is not effective as we expected.
– said Kosiniak-Kamysz during a meeting with journalists. He emphasized that restoring this system is “a big task for Minister Bodnar” and pointed to the first steps in this case, including separating the functions of the Minister of Justice and those of the Attorney General.
These projects must be submitted to Parliament as soon as possible. We will restore the legal system and bring appropriate laws. And we count on the president’s acceptance
– announced the Deputy Prime Minister.
During Sunday’s celebrations of the 161st anniversary of the January Uprising in Vilnius, President Andrzej Duda admitted he was open to negotiations on changes to the legal system, remarking that there was a “boundary condition”.
I will not allow any verification of the judges appointed during the 8.5 years I am president. These are people who have gone through the entire procedure before joining the judiciary or being promoted. They were appointed in accordance with regulations, took an oath before the President and received nominations. I will not allow these people to be verified and prosecuted
– he said.
When asked about the local government elections, the PSL president pointed out that his party’s statements included a new law on local government financing. As he said, it is about “redressing injustices against those who have lost government support over the past eight years, deducted money from the taxes paid by their residents and failed to return this money to the local government.” According to him, municipalities whose rulers were not involved in Law and Justice have suffered in recent years.
We want transparency and competition, but first, to take this step, we must settle the accounts of the abuses, we must compensate local authorities that have lost money in recent years – this will be one of our main program points.
– said Kosiniak-Kamysz. He pointed out, among other things, “a good use of resources from the KPO and the EU”.
Kosiniak-Kamysz: Independence is a big word and of great value
Independence is a big word and of great value; it’s not a slogan, it’s not just a holiday on November 11; it is caring every day and looking for what can unite us – said the Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, in Wierzchosławice.
Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz took part in the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Wincenty Witos in Wierzchosławice (Lesser Poland Voivodeship) on Sunday. During the ceremony at the Polish Village Cultural Center in Wierzchosławice, he quoted the words of a former leader of the popular movement: “The thing of the weak is to wait, the strong create their future.”
Poland must create a better future for the next generations. We must bring Poland to our children and grandchildren better than we found it. This is Witos’ mission, which remains unchanged
– he emphasized.
Kosiniak-Kamysz pointed out that the words: dignity, independence and freedom reflect what Witos believed in. As he emphasized, “everything starts with dignity.”
Witos begins its activity when there are no more Poles, when the Polish peasant is humiliated, when most of the inhabitants are oppressed. So there is neither freedom nor independence, but – unfortunately – also no dignity, without which it is impossible to fight for freedom and independence.
– he said.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that “it was necessary to turn people who had no right to feel like citizens into full-fledged hosts of the Republic of Poland.”
Witos undertakes this mission. He says: education is the source of wisdom, it is a life-giving source. Sam doesn’t finish many classes. He is self-taught. He follows this direction, reads books in the evenings and also meets smart, good people. (…) And it awakens Poland to action, activity, wisdom and dedication
– he remembered.
Equality before the law, no legal protection for those who have overstepped their authority and violated the Constitution. No protection and impunity, but equality before the law – this is the will of Witos
– Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized. Perhaps these words were intended in response to the words of President Andrzej Duda, who, recalling the figure of Wincenty Witos in Wojnicz, said: “Where is PSL today? He is part of the ruling coalition that is putting MPs in prison. ”
He also paid special attention to national unity.
Disputes, disagreements, conflicts, even political ones, are part of democracy and will be part of it, and that was also the case in 1920.
– said the head of the Ministry of National Defense.
I do not believe in unity only at the moment of direct threat, even if this threat is greater in 2024 than it was two or ten years ago
– Kosiniak-Kamysz admitted. He added that after a hundred years, the threat comes from the same direction. In light of this, he called on everyone to unity – “not speaking blindly and with one voice on every issue, for this is neither necessary nor possible, but unity for the state cause of the Republic of Poland.”
“There is no security without national community.”
Poland needs security. There is no security without a national community, without state reasons, without cooperation between different centers of power, political circles and citizens. We owe unity to the memory of Wincenty Witos. Unity is our job
– concluded the Deputy Prime Minister. He stressed that Poland expects unity on strategic issues, such as “security, the strength of the alliance, a modernized army, a common voice on many issues in the international arena.”
Kosiniak-Kamysz recalled that we joined NATO 25 years ago, and that an anniversary summit of the North Atlantic Alliance will take place in July.
I expect common and joint statements from all political circles at the NATO summit in Washington. We must be united there, first in Poland, and only then with our allies
– he said. He added that he invites all political circles to this unity.
Poland’s strength in the face of threats is possible and is our duty
– he said. He pointed out that citizens’ involvement is necessary in building a secure Republic of Poland. He added that local governments, local government communities, citizens and non-governmental organizations should also participate in this.
That is why we urgently need to pass the Civil Protection and Civil Protection Act in 2024. She is a necessity to be safe
– he emphasized. He added that without this measure there will not be complete security of the country. He also recalled that a soldier of the Polish Army is a soldier of the Republic of Poland and “will never be a soldier of any political party.
Marshal of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia sent a letter to those present at the ceremony in Wierzchosławice on Sunday, with a message about the 150th anniversary of the birth of Wincenty Witos. As he emphasized in the document, Witos’ activities are an inspiration to contemporary leaders and citizens.
Wincenty Witos was a figure who not only shaped the destiny of our country, but also inspired generations to work for the common good. His steadfast stance, dedication to the ideals of democracy, concern for social justice and solidarity with those most in need remain a source of pride for us.
– wrote Hołownia.
Referring to the positions that Witos held, including the office of Prime Minister and Chairman of the Popular Movement, he emphasized that “his contribution to the development of the state and laying the foundations of democratic values have indisputably contributed to shaping the current identity of Poland. .”
During the ceremony, Senator Waldemar Pawlak recalled the words of the three-time Prime Minister that “the power or the future of the state cannot be built by any great genius, not even by the greatest genius; It can be done by the whole nation, conscious of its rights and duties.”
That is to say: one with the other, and not one against the other
– Pawlak emphasized. He emphasized that Witos’ apparent idea was to unite people.
The memory of Witos is not just a family memory, it is the memory of many generations of farmers who inspired Witos. This is our pride on the one hand and our duty on the other
– noted Waldemar Pawlak.
Today, as we face local elections, it is very important that we build this national cathedral, the Cathedral of the Republic of Poland, generation after generation.
– he emphasized. (DAD)
Wincenty Witos, from Wierzchosławice, was one of the leaders of the Polish independence movement, a long-time leader of the popular movement, three-time Prime Minister of the Second Polish Republic and one of the fathers of independence. In connection with the 150th anniversary of his birth and in recognition of the outstanding contributions of the leader of the popular movement, the Sejm of the Republic of Poland declared 2024 as the Year of Wincenty Witos.
