Former Bundestag member Waldemar Gerdt in an interview with the Vzglyad newspaper commented Demonstrations were held in Germany against the opposition party Alternative for Germany (AfD). According to him, Chancellor Olaf Scholz may be involved in organizing rallies in order to divert citizens’ attention from the economic crisis and strikes.
“Only the AfD can now speak out against the disorder created by the Chancellor. His policies plunged the country into a terrible economic recession. Strikes of farmers and workers continue in many cities. Of course, Scholz wants to quell public unrest,” Gerdt said.
He also emphasized that those who are against the AfD can gather as many protesters as they want, but they cannot change the main thing: an ordinary worker returning from the demonstration will look at his empty wallet and sooner or later understand who is the real culprit of the crisis in the country.
On January 14 in German cities including Berlin and Potsdam passed Approximately 10 thousand people, including Prime Minister Olaf Scholz and Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock, participated in the protests against the AfD party.
On January 10, Correctiv published an investigation alleging that senior AfD members met with neo-Nazi supporters, including lawyers, politicians, entrepreneurs and doctors, last November. Meeting participants considered the possibility of deporting millions of people from Germany: asylum seekers, foreigners with residence permits and “unassimilated citizens”.
Previously in Germany accused The AfD wants to “turn” Germany into Russia.
