“Yesterday, society showed that it is capable of opposing any judicial crime, because I consider what happened to Mariusz Kamiński and Maciek Wąsik as such. The march showed that Poles do not allow breaking the law and that we must take that into account. If necessary, we will repeat such marches,” says PiS MP Prof. yesterday’s March of the Free Poles together in an interview with the wPolityce.pl portal. Przemysław Czarnek.
wPolityce.pl: Donald Tusk and his government have achieved their first, unique “achievement”: in less than a month they have mobilized – estimated – more than 300,000 people to actively protest against themselves. people. It is worth going into this in more detail.
Prof. Przemysław Czarnek: We must remember that it was an act of disagreement with the actions of this government, not only from PiS supporters, but from everyone who cares about Poland. Next, let us remember that the March of the Free Poles brought together hundreds of thousands of people in the dead of winter, while snow and rain were falling, while we had had bad, crackling frosts the previous days, on a weekday afternoon, when many people wanted to, but couldn’t do it because of work done and going to March, for example. Before Tusk, no one had done this.
What do you think will be the political and social consequences of this March?
Of course, I don’t know how everything will go now. We have witnessed the madness and insanity that we have witnessed since December 13, and especially since December 19, starting with the infamous media resolution, which was illegally used to attack the free public media. Now we have the kidnapping of members of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland and putting them in prison completely illegally, as political prisoners.
How to evaluate it? Perhaps we are dealing with a planned action and the gentlemen are in ‘revolutionary mode’. This would mean that we must demonstrate even more strongly the strength of a society that is not willing to violate the principles of democracy and the rule of law.
I guess they didn’t expect such a social reaction, so after December 13 they went completely crazy, also using Mr. Szymon Hołownia, who probably has no idea what he’s doing. It seemed to him that the Marshal of the Sejm would be such a cool position and an excellent springboard to thwart Tusk or Trzaskowski in their possible attempts to gain the presidency. Meanwhile, the “minefield” he was led into came sooner than he expected.
It is difficult to determine which of the above two scenarios will be realized. Be that as it may, society showed yesterday that it is capable of opposing any judicial crime, because I consider what happened to Mariusz Kamiński and Maciek Wąsik as such. The March of the Free Poles showed that Poles will not allow people to break the law and that we must take that into account.
Undoubtedly, the Poles have shown that they are not blind to the contempt of Donald Tusk’s ministers for the provisions of the law, and that they see what is happening. Will this change anything in the actions of the heads of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Ministry of the Interior and Administration and other ministries?
I think, at least right now, they’re a little scared. Under the circumstances mentioned above, they certainly did not expect such crowds. That they are surprised and scared is evident from the fact that the Sejm session, a three-day, important budget session, did not take place. They canceled the Sejm committees, closed the restaurants and bars in the Sejm hotel and barred people from entering from 2 p.m. Doesn’t that mean you’re afraid? They were scared before the March and I think they are even more scared now. Perhaps a million or two million people could come to the capital if Europe’s beautiful, free, safe and fastest developing homeland continues to become a mess at such a rate and continues to act to its detriment – in matters of law, justice and politics.
It seems that the immediate sending of MPs Kamiński and Wąsik to prisons had a similar, frightening context: to prevent a march to Grochów Prison, where the MPs might learn what support they have?
Absolutely yes. The deportation of Maciek Wąsik to Ostrołęka and Mariusz Kamiński to Radom at such a pace showed great fear and an attempt to protect themselves, even though the March of the Free Poles was completely peaceful. He showed that voters and supporters of Law and Justice, United Right, conservative and Christian values are not barbarians and wild people who will shout vulgarities and attack public facilities. There was absolute peace, the police never had to intervene. There was no insulting police, no spitting on uniforms, no fighting, no attempts to enter facilities. Nothing like that happened. They just judge for themselves, that’s why they were afraid.
Today, the Deputy Head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administrative Affairs stated that despite the launch of the pardon procedure and clear provisions on the application of the law of pardon, “there are no legal grounds for the Attorney General to suspend the execution of the sentence on to suspend. ” by MPs Kamiński and Wąsik. How would you respond to this?
Here we fundamentally disagree with the other side. There are no legal reasons to keep them in prison. They are members of parliament who were pardoned by the president in 2015. A judicial offense was committed against them, violating every possible rule of conduct. They were tried in a case that had long been concluded with an act of presidential clemency.
Should we view the pardon procedure as a continuation of the consequences of the pardon of November 16, 2015?
Exactly this way. And this is the pardon process adopted by the President that will confirm this act of mercy and extend it to what is happening today – to get our colleagues and friends out of prison immediately.
But if the current government does not wake up after the March of the Free Poles and continues to dismantle the state – will there be more marches?
Naturally. If we see a continuation of what has happened over the past month, yesterday’s march will become the beginning of a great march to regain power in Poland from the hands of those who are destroying the country. We want a Poland that is sovereign, independent, law-abiding, democratic and developing beautifully. Yesterday’s march confirmed that we are on the right track and if necessary, and as often as necessary, we will continue such marches in Warsaw and other cities.
