This is politics, there is nothing special about it, governments change – PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński said in the Sejm on Monday, when asked if he was disappointed by the Sejm’s inability to grant a vote of confidence to the government from Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

In Monday’s vote, the Sejm did not give Prime Minister Morawiecki’s government a vote of confidence. Now the Sejm will take the initiative in selecting the Prime Minister and the government. The majority candidate, held by KO, Third Way and the Left, for this position is Donald Tusk.

The PiS president was asked by journalists in the Sejm whether he was disappointed with this vote.

– Kaczyński replied.
The only question now is: what will this change entail? According to the announcements, it will look like the end of Polish democracy
– emphasized the PiS president. But – as he added – we hope this will not be the case.

At one point, President Kaczyński was approached by the leader of AgroUnia, KO MP Michał Kołodziejczak, who asked him whether he would face consequences if he imported grain from Ukraine to Poland.

When asked if he had won the Poland of his dreams, the PiS president said: “The Poland of his dreams is a Poland without politicians who will act on behalf of foreign countries.”
When asked whether he would like to transfer power in the party to someone and how long he will be the head of PiS, Kaczyński replied that “there is a party statute and everything will be in accordance with the statute.”

When asked by a journalist whether he would like to congratulate the head of the PO, Donald Tusk, who will probably become the new Prime Minister, Kaczyński replied:

During Monday’s session of the Sejm, parliamentarians will elect the prime minister in the second constitutional step. This will be followed by a discussion and then a vote on the choice of Prime Minister.
On Tuesday at 10 a.m., the new Prime Minister will present the action program and the composition of the government, together with a proposal for the election of the Council of Ministers. According to the schedule, the vote will take place at 4 p.m.
The Sejm elects the Prime Minister and the members of the Council of Ministers nominated by him by an absolute majority of votes in the presence of at least half of the legal number of deputies.
