Yesterday, debates were held on draft resolutions on the creation of investigative committees for Pegasus, for envelope elections and for the so-called visa scandal. The projects were forwarded to the Legislative Commission for further work.

The Sejm also considered a draft resolution on the establishment of an investigative committee to investigate, among other things, the legality, regularity and purpose of the operational and reconnaissance activities undertaken: use of Pegasus software by members of the Council of Ministers, special services, the police, tax control authorities and customs and tax control authorities in the period from November 16, 2015 to November 20, 2023.
According to MPs from the United Right, this period “should be extended”, they announced during a press conference.

As he noted, when submitting its draft resolution, the Civic Platform decided to “introduce a certain time limit”, “it was intended that the subject of the deliberations and investigation of the Commission of Inquiry would be the years from November 16, 2015 to November 2015. From January 20, 2023, we believe that this period should be extended.”
As Bochenek added: “This will be a test for the PO of their credibility, whether they really want to turn the issue regarding the use of different types of activities by the services into a political event, or whether they simply want to explain the problems. ” issue in depth.”
If we want to be transparent, let’s create a transparent commission covering not only the last eight years, but also the years leading up to the time when the United Right was in power in Poland, i.e. the time when PO and PSL were in power goods.

The issue of journalists
As Wójcik argued, “two important threads emerged.” He pointed out that “the first issue involved journalists.” He explained that it was about “the allegation of years of surveillance of journalists – it was a very media-related case, more than fifty names appeared.”
We want to know if this is true, who decided on such an inspection, whether data was actually collected, for example invoices, and why. To find out, this committee must also investigate the period during which PO and PSL were in power.
