Marcin Kierwiński, a member of parliament of the Civic Coalition, clearly admitted at the ‘Trójka Political Salon’, in a sense, that the decision of the European Commission to pay Poland 5 billion euros in advances from the KPO is linked to a high probability of a coming change of power. “Morawiecki lost the elections and the European Commission assumes – and rightly assumes – that Poland will finally return to the path of the rule of law,” the politician said. Kierwiński also argued that PO is against changing EU treaties, but PiS’s attitude towards this issue is ‘hysteria’.
KO against treaty changes
The PO Secretary General was asked why his party in the European Parliament, like PiS, voted against changing the EU treaties.
We, as a Civic Coalition, are against any change. We believe that the current legal solutions are good and optimal. However, I would not turn what happened into a big drama and hysteria, like PiS is unleashing, because this is a very preparatory phase of any work.
– he answered Beata Michniewicz’s question.
The journalist pointed out that since an important KO politician says that PiS’s warnings are “hysteria”, many listeners may see a “red flag” that such downplaying of the seriousness of the whole matter may simply be a preparation for a change of mind on this issue. . Can PO leader Donald Tusk also change his position on the new treaties?
Donald Tusk has made it very clear what his position is. He is against changes in this area. I’m talking about hysteria because I’ve been seeing this anti-European story from PiS for several weeks now. They say, “Oh my, they’re robbing us of our sovereignty!” NO
– said Marcin Kierwiński.
In our opinion, the current solutions are better. We are dealing with this PiS hysteria, Mateusz Morawiecki, who is still Prime Minister because he has President Duda’s supposed mission to appoint a new cabinet
– he continued.
This mission is doomed to failure. Prime Minister Morawiecki, instead of shouting and being hysterical today, should answer public opinion as to why Poland’s position in the international arena is such that the Polish Prime Minister is unable to reach an agreement on such matters with our partners in the West
– he argued.
Poland has the potential to become the leader of the EU and for eight years the PiS government has been standing in the corner saying: we don’t agree with anything. It could be that a toddler in kindergarten is the one tapping his feet in the corner, and not the Polish Prime Minister
– the guest from Radio Three added.
Will Donald Tusk, when he takes over as Prime Minister, convince Poland’s partners in Western EU countries to oppose changes to the treaties?
These changes are a very, very preparatory phase. It’s hard to talk about any work. These are just concepts and nothing more, and nothing major will likely happen. Donald Tusk, on the other hand, is such an effective politician that he will be able to deal with and defend Polish interests in behind-the-scenes conversations.
– said Marcin Kierwiński.

Prepayments from KPO? ‘Because Morawiecki lost the elections’
The PO Secretary General continued to follow the narrative about the alleged lack of effectiveness of the Polish government (he apparently “forgot” what happened after the Russian aggression in Ukraine or, like many of his party colleagues, he was too focused on attacking . the Polish government for its harsh statements against Berlin, which, especially in the first days of the war, did not behave as if it were clearly on the side of Ukraine). According to Kierwiński, an example is the funds from the National Reconstruction Plan. However, in this context, the politician made a rather interesting statement.
Poland hasn’t had any money from KPO for two years just because the Polish Prime Minister…
– began the guest from Radio Three.
After all, he has 5 billion euros in advances
– noted the journalist.
Precisely because Morawiecki has lost the elections and the European Commission assumes – and rightly assumes – that Poland will finally return to the path of the rule of law, the law will again be the most important and the meaning of the words ‘Law and Justice’ will change . be correct
– Kierwiński replied.
Such statements were intended to put the United Right government in a bad light, but in the end they would only discredit the European Commission, which according to KO would always have been good for Poland, but it was the ‘evil PiS’ that have not made sufficient efforts to ensure that the money intended for reconstruction after the coronavirus pandemic, and therefore not related to political projects, came to our country.

Changes in the secret services
The agreement initialed on November 10 by the leaders of PO, PSL, Poland 2050 and New Left stated that the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau would be liquidated and its resources and powers transferred to other services, including the anti-corruption crime department of the Central Criminal Investigation Bureau of the police.
On Thursday, Kierwiński – tipped by some media as the future Minister of the Interior and Administration in the government to be formed by PO leader Donald Tusk – was asked whether there will be a separate coordinator for the secret services after the change of power.
As far as I know there will be a return to good standards so that the Coordinator Minister, i.e. a separate position dealing only with secret services
– replied the PO politician.
Currently, in the government of Mateusz Morawiecki, Mariusz Kamiński is the Coordinator of Special Services and the Head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.
“We will talk and work out solutions.”
Kierwiński assured that KO will fight to ensure that all one hundred details are implemented in the election manifesto.
The decision of the voters will be a coalition government, that is, a government that must agree and consolidate its position. We will talk about issues that divide the coalition – in the sense of different views – and work out solutions
– he pointed out, referring to the coalition agreement signed by KO, PSL, Trzecia Droga and New Left to establish a government led by the head of the PO, Donald Tusk.
When asked what has been agreed with the coalition partners so far, the KO MP replied that these include: increases for the budget, which will launch a real fight against inflation and safeguard Poland’s forests. He added that in line with election statements, KO will make every effort to increase the tax-free amount.
We will reverse the outrageous changes to health insurance premiums that have become a gigantic burden. We will certainly introduce “grandmothers”, as we have stated
– assured Kierwiński. He added that the 800-plus advantage would be maintained.
The PO Secretary General also announced that specialists would join the government.
We will restore the competitions, we will restore the ethos of state service. Not party ID, but competence and professional experience will be the criteria for who will work in government
– he said.
“We will throw Nowogrodzka’s officers from TVP.
When asked when the coalition partners would implement their plans for public media, he replied:
We will depoliticize, that is, we will throw the officers of Nowogrodzka Street out of TVP.
Kierwiński emphasized that the changes will be implemented very quickly.
We will make changes very quickly, and the basis for that will be the applicable law
– he announced.
He explained that the new Minister of Culture will present appropriate legal solutions once he assumes office.
I can repeat that it will happen very, very soon
– he repeated.
He ruled that “the National Media Council is a body created to circumvent the constitutional body, namely the National Broadcasting Council.”
We will do everything we can to return public television to Poles. The agents who currently work at TVP will no longer work there
– he pointed.
Kierwiński clarified that he meant those TVP employees who “spread hate and hatred and behave as if they were on the payroll of PiS, and not of TVP.”
Everything will be done in accordance with the law and decency. I don’t agree that people who just spread hate make 50, 80, 100 grand. for hosting one program per week
– he declared.
Kierwiński, the future head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration?
At the beginning of the broadcast, Beata Michniewicz asked her guest about media reports indicating that he was being considered for the position of head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administrative Affairs.
These are the Prime Minister’s decisions. Each of the politicians of the Civic Coalition is of course at the disposal of the Prime Minister, but these decisions lie with the Prime Minister and only in a few weeks, in 2.5 weeks, when this so-called mission of forming a government by Morawiecki will end.
– said Marcin Kierwiński.
This second constitutional step is a step immediately before the Sejm. Respect for the Sejm, for democracy, for these principles requires that the Sejm be treated as a priority as the place where this presentation will take place.
– he assured.
The Prime Minister is the only one who has the composition of the future cabinet in mind
– emphasized the Secretary General of the PO.

And if the setup in Donald Tusk’s mind is at least partially consistent with TVN’s information, that wouldn’t necessarily bode well for Poland.
