Mariusz Błaszczak referred to the words of General Mirosław Różański. The former soldier, elected MP of the Third Way, criticized the purchase of weapons for the Polish army.
Różański made statements to “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung”, which were used in the text of the newspaper’s Warsaw correspondent.
The ability to analyze PiS politicians was limited. Instead, they wanted to show that the country has the capacity to act. (…) It could also have been a matter of delusions of grandeur. I’m afraid the vision of the largest land army is a populist slogan
– said the MP.
Response from the Minister of National Defense
Mariusz Błaszczak commented on Różański’s words. The head of the Ministry of National Defense claims that Szymon Hołownia’s party suffers from a “chronic inferiority complex.”
Hołownia’s Party with the same vote as PO. You are the ones who suffer from a chronic inferiority complex. That’s why you call any pro-state project whose size exceeds Mendeleev’s tables a chocolate eagle megalomania. It seems naive to you that the Germans will defend us so that you can save on the army
– wrote Błaszczak on the X website.
The defense minister argued that before PiS took power, the Polish army was “just a facade.”
You ensured that in 2015 we had only the facade of an army with insufficient soldiers, post-Soviet equipment and a low budget. Poland needs modern and numerous Polish armed forces to defend our independence. As long as you do not understand this, you are acting at the expense of our homeland
