We have indicated which ministries we want to take responsibility for; Donald Tusk accepted all the names proposed by the left, Robert Biedroń, co-chair of the New Left, said on TVN24. He also noted that “there will be a large majority of women when it comes to the left-wing team.”
The left will have a deputy minister of health
The agreements on the distribution of positions in the newly formed government of Donald Tusk have not yet been made public. Robert Biedroń informed that during the negotiations the coalition partners (KO, Trzecia Droga, Lewica) had first indicated the ministries in which they were interested, and then proposed suitable names for acceptance by the candidate for the premiership. All representatives of the left would receive a positive recommendation from Donald Tusk.
Each of us will indicate which ministries we want to take responsibility for. We will indicate appropriate names for these ministries. We, as the left, did it. Donald Tusk accepted all the names suggested by the left, believing them to be top-class specialists. These conversations are practically over. The same was true for other groups. I have participated in these conversations. There was no major controversy here. We offered the best of the best
– said the leader of the left.
Biedroń admitted that the implementation of the requirement to reduce the waiting time for a visit to a specialized doctor to 30 days will be possible thanks to the appointment of the left-wing candidate for the post of Deputy Minister of Health. He also announced that his party would not manage the entire Ministry of Health.
The Left will have its own Deputy Minister of Health, and one of the tasks of this Deputy Minister or Deputy Minister of Health will be to ensure that the queues for a doctor ultimately last less than thirty days.
– he emphasized.
“The vast majority of women
Robert Biedroń was asked how many women from the left would be in the new government. He noted that he cannot release any details at this time.
We agreed that Donald Tusk would present the composition of the Council of Ministers
– he emphasized.
However, the MEP lifted the veil somewhat when it comes to women’s representation.
There will be an overwhelming majority of women on the left when it comes to ministerial positions
– said the TVN24 guest.
Robert Biedroń referred to the differences within the coalition when it comes to ideological issues, such as the right to abortion and the idea of the Third Way to make this issue the subject of a referendum.
The referendum took place on the streets
– he replied, recalling the protests after the announcement of the ruling of the Constitutional Court in the so-called eugenic buildings in 2020
There are no referendums on human rights issues in our legal culture. Abortion is a human right
– said Biedroń.
The politician also assured that he would “do his best” to ensure that women “can decide on their lives and health even in the new term of the Sejm.”
If compromises need to be made so that women can fully exercise their right to terminate their pregnancies, without rotten compromises on women’s rights, then I am willing to do so.
– he said.
A common candidate for president?
On the left, the coalition proposed a pact for local government and a European pact (KO, Trzecia Droga, left); we were not talking about a common candidate for the presidency – said Robert Biedroń, co-chairman of the New Left, on TVN24 on Saturday.
Biedroń said that the left offered the forming government coalition (Civic Coalition, Third Way and Left) the opportunity to cooperate in the upcoming elections for local government and the European Parliament. There have been no talks about presenting a common candidate for president.
The Left has put a local government pact and a European pact on the negotiating table so that we can participate together in local government and European elections.
– said the co-chairman of the left.
I hope that will happen. That we are united in government today, and that we will also be united in the local and European elections
– added.
