“The president rightly noted that the Civic Coalition, Third Way and New Left are not linked by a coalition agreement and that the minimum program is not known. I would like to say more: the protocol of differences is broader and more abundant than the principles for writing a common program,” said Marek Formela in the program “Salon Dziennikarski”, referring to the post-election situation in Poland.
Consult with the president
Let us not forget that President Andrzej Duda, during a summary of the two-day consultation with representatives of the electoral commissions that will be represented in the next Sejm, announced that the date he has provisionally scheduled for the first session of the Sejm of the tenth deadline will be Monday. November 13. As he said, he sees no reason to shorten the current term.
The president also highlighted that there are two political groups that claim to have a parliamentary majority and have a candidate for prime minister. The United Right’s candidate for prime minister is Mateusz Morawiecki, and the candidate for KO, Third Way and Left is Donald Tusk.

A lesson in the rule of law
Telewizja Polska’s Anna Sarzyńska pointed out that “the number of votes is absolute and Law and Justice have so far not presented any details that would indicate that negotiations on forming a majority have any chance of success.”
Donald Tusk probably has a real chance to form a government, which does not mean that Mateusz Morawiecki does not have the right to make such an effort.
– added the journalist.
According to Marek Formela, editor-in-chief of Gazeta Gdańska, “the president is teaching the Polish opposition the constitution.”
I use her recipe and that’s all. Perhaps this is a difficult lesson for some opposition politicians, as the responses show they are very heated. The president rightly noted that the Civic Coalition, Third Way and New Left are not linked by a coalition agreement and that the minimum program is not known. I would like to say more: the protocol of differences is broader and more comprehensive than the principles for writing a common program
– noted Formela.
The columnist added that “the opposition feels mathematically stronger than PiS, but it is vulnerable because it is based only on arithmetic, and not on views and beliefs.”
This permitted constitutional period civilizes opposition politicians. Under the banner of a lack of rule of law, they are currently learning what the rule of law looks like in a country that has a constitution.
– stressed editor Formela, adding that the opposition believed in its own lies, just like – unfortunately – part of society.
He emphasized that when thinking about the future government, we must also remember the 11.5 million citizens who participated in the referendum. This is more than those who voted for Law and Justice, meaning opposition voters were also in favor of sending the answers to referendum questions to the government level.
Plays on emotions
Historian Piotr Gursztyn said that “the one who reached the finish line first has the right to try to gain support and has the right to lose.”
As for the coalition, it will probably be formed. The desire to return to power and fast after eight or, in the case of the left, eighteen years, is strong. But this rushing by the president is an important phenomenon because it is a further attempt to control his own support through emotions. I see a deja vu of Lech Kaczyński’s presidency. These were the words of Michał Kamiński, who was on the other side at that moment. He had a good sense of what these kinds of dishonest tricks mean, and talked about cutting off the president’s money if he cheats. There will be actions such as taking away the plane, arguing about a seat, etc. Andrzej Duda has this experience, he saw it himself when he worked at KPRP at the time. This will be an excuse for the opposition not to implement the program and these 100 specific details
– said Gursztyn.
Kosiniak-Kamysz Prime Minister?
TVP’s Antoni Trzmiel, in turn, said Tusk is in a hurry and is rushing the president because the coalition talks are not going well.
There are no agreements on what this will look like, we do not know who the second person in the state will be, the chairman of the Sejm. On the one hand they talk about Budka, the media talk about Tsarzasty, and Hołownia also wants this position. The Prime Minister is only the third person. Tusk would rather go to Brussels to meet Von der Leyen than talk to his partners. This is almost against PiS. Tusk himself benefits from this, not the coalition
– said the journalist.
Brzmiel added that the upcoming local and European elections “are or are not” for the left and PSL, and that “being Tusk’s sidekick is political death for them.” He pointed out that haste is not in the interests of Hołownia and Kosiniak-Kamysz.
The president invites you to the palace and says the doors are open. This is an invitation to PSL. PiS politicians say Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz may become prime minister in another coalition. Even Sawicki says Kosiniak-Kamysz would be better than Tusk. In which coalition could he be prime minister?
– Antoni Trzmiel added.
