When appointing the government, the president will act in accordance with the provisions of the constitution, taking into account the political reality in Poland, said Marcin Przydacz, head of the presidential Office for International Policy.
The President will act in accordance with the Constitution
When it comes to the opposition’s appointment of a prime minister, the president will obviously take into account the votes that will come from individual committees.
– Marcin Przydacz, the head of the International Policy Office in the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, elected MP of the Law and Justice party, said on TVN24. However, he noted that “the actual majority will be controlled only by the Sejm.”
When asked what the President would do if political leaders came to President Duda with a list of MPs who would support a government not appointed by PiS, he said that “the President (…) will act in accordance with the provisions of the constitution. , on the one hand.”
On the other hand, of course, taking into account the political reality in Poland. Certainly
– said Przydacz.
He added that the president “will also take into account who won the parliamentary elections in Poland.”
Who has the biggest potential club in Parliament today when this Parliament is constituted?
– emphasized the elected MP.
Duda-Morawiecki meeting
Przydacz was also asked about the meeting between President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the presidential palace. He emphasized that he was not a participant and added that the conversations “certainly concerned the situation after the elections.”
Perhaps, I imagine, the president is exploring future opportunities for forming a government. There is nothing strange about that, the president currently has a very important constitutional role
– he said.
The head of the International Policy Bureau said that “these conversations are happening at different levels.”
We, as the president’s support team, also talk to each other, to other politicians, to provide the president with as much knowledge as possible.
– he explained.
Appointments for judges and evaluators
The conversation also covered President Duda’s appointments as judges and court evaluators. Przydacz emphasized that the president “appointed judges and court evaluators this week in the same manner as in early September, around the turn of July and August.”
I work in the presidential palace, so I see that judges come from time to time for their chains and nominations. There’s nothing strange here
– said the politician, adding that the president “has a duty to appoint judges and he does so.”
