After three months of openly breaching the law and bypassing regulations through parliamentary resolutions, it is hard for anyone to trust those who have shown such disregard for the Polish Constitution and the rules that define a democratic state, said Marcin Przydacz, a PiS MP, during TVN24.
The Sejm majority prepared a draft resolution for changes to the Constitutional Tribunal to be presented in the House of Representatives, Przydacz noted on TVN24.

Stalemate situation
In the weeks and months that followed, observers found the liberal-left coalition in Poland acting in ways that exceeded what many could have imagined. Today it is hard to envision any scenario, even the most heated, being ruled out. Practically zeroing out the constitutional bodies allocated by the Constitution would require a constitutional change under the relevant provisions of the Members’ Act. The idea of reinstating them for political reasons is, in Przydacz’s view, unimaginable and was not planned.
– he said on Rozmowa Piaseckiego on TVN24.
There is no legal tool that allows for such a drastic option. The constitution would need to be amended. At present, Przydacz argued, the Constitutional Court is functioning, despite internal problems and disputes that have since been resolved. He urged giving the judges a chance to continue their work.
– he added.
When asked by Konrad Piasecki whether his party would consider changes to the Constitutional Court, he responded that political reality makes any discussion difficult. After months of alleged rule-breaking through parliamentary resolutions, it is hard for him to imagine trusting people who violate the Polish Constitution and the rules of a democratic state.
Przydacz emphasized the point.
What about a constitutional reset?
Przydacz also commented on proposals pushed mainly by Third Way politicians regarding a constitutional reset. He noted that despite grand statements, the group led by Marshal Hołownia and the defense minister has not shown openness to specific talks.
He said, not as a dreamer, but with clarity, that he had not been approached with concrete proposals or ideas by anyone from the PiS leadership.
– he stated.
He acknowledged that the Confederation has put forward a constitutional reset proposal and that representatives have met with the President. Such discussions are taking place, but from the perspective of PO, PSL, and Szymon Hołownia, there is little willingness for dialogue. From a PiS viewpoint, some topics could potentially be negotiable.
– the PiS MP elaborated further.
“There is no scandal”
Former head of the International Policy Office at the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland also spoke about the Parliamentary Investigative Committee on Visas, noting that any irregularities in issuing visas to foreigners were tracked by services and responded to promptly.
There were irregularities in speeding up visa grants. Polish services identified them and acted quickly. The official who oversaw the process faced charges, and that was acknowledged publicly.
– he stated.
According to him, state institutions responded appropriately and the issue was amplified by the media during the campaign ahead of the October parliamentary elections. He asserted that there is no scandal, as such. What happened were irregularities that needed to be resolved swiftly, he added.
– he said.
Chasing criminals
In the context of allegations that the PiS government monitored opponents using the Pegasus system, Przydacz argued that a strong and efficient state should pursue criminals and equip itself with the proper technical and operational tools. Now the Pegasus Commission will determine whether individuals were prosecuted. If any politicians were involved, the priority is to establish why they were tapped and whether procedures, prosecutorial decisions, and judicial rulings were followed.
– he stated.
He also pointed out that discussions about Pegasus often take place on TVN rather than within the party itself.
