Polish opposition leader Donald Tusk said he was confident of victory in the parliamentary elections. This was reported by RIA News.
According to the agency, Tusk reached this conclusion after the exit poll results were announced. In contrast, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, head of the ruling Law and Justice party, is not sure he will win the elections.
According to the exit poll conducted after the end of voting in the Polish parliamentary elections, the Law and Justice party received 36.8 percent of the votes, while the Civic Coalition, Third Way and Left received 31.6 percent, 13 percent and 8.6 percent. respectively. If the opposition unites in a coalition, it will receive more than 50 percent of the votes.
“The question is whether it will be possible to translate this success into our new era in power,” Kaczynski said.
Tusk noted that the result of the opposition could be called “the end of bad times”.
Before this, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced that the opposition is ready to form a new government, despite receiving the majority of votes in the country’s parliamentary elections.
