The National Security Council held a meeting in Ankara to discuss Ukraine, Syria, Iraq and Libya, as well as the future of the grain agreement. This was reported by TASS.
“The latest events related to the ongoing war in Ukraine and possible steps to intensify the Black Sea grain initiative were discussed. In the statement, it was stated that Turkey’s determination to continue efforts to end the war without delay through the establishment of a just and lasting peace was once again confirmed.
It was also noted that the Turkish Security Council confirmed its determination to liquidate the Kurdistan Workers’ Party in the country.
Previously President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reported Turkish journalists reported that negotiations regarding the grain supply from Russia were carried out at the level of foreign ministers of the three states with the participation of Turkey and Qatar. Erdoğan noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s target regarding the grain corridor is African countries.
On September 18, Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) Vasily Nebenzia said that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and his team do not have the strength to solve systemic problems related to the implementation of the Russian part of the grain agreement.
