He was one of the youngest voivodes and became deputy to the Minister of Justice, Zbiegniew Ziobro. They call him “the young wolf”. Even though he is not an MP, he has the opportunity to change that. Who is Piotr Cieplucha and what was the political path of the Deputy Minister of Justice?
Piotr Cieplucha was born in Łódź in 1990. He graduated in administration from the University of Łódź, as well as postgraduate studies in the field of social welfare organization at the Social Academy of Sciences. He also has an EMBA diploma. Since his studies, he has been most passionate about geopolitics. His master’s thesis was on the concept of the Intermarium, which is extremely relevant today, especially during the war on Poland’s eastern border.
For more than 15 years, Cieplucha has also been involved in the socio-political life of Łódź and the region. For years he supported local communities, local governments, volunteer fire brigades and schools. He was involved in the defense of Łódź residents who protest and feel wronged, including: employees of the Łódź Municipal Center for Social Welfare, the Water Supply and Sewerage Plant, or residents of Łódź residential areas who want to change the local development plan. He opposes the aggressive interference of developers in urban space. – He always tries to help everyone. He never left anyone in need. He fights for others with all his might, says one of his friends.
In the past, Cieplucha was director of the State Forest Development and Implementation Center, advisor to two voivodes, and headed the Ministry of Health, Family and Social Policy of the Łódź Provincial Office in Łódź for many years. He is also authorized to lead organizational units in the field of social welfare. He led and served on the boards of several non-governmental organizations.
The political path
He started his political path in 2008, when he joined Law and Justice. After the split in PiS, Cieplucha joined Solidarna Polska of Zbigniew Ziobro. Due to his dedication and effectiveness, he became the head of party structures in the Łódź district and led the youth wing of the Solidarity Poland Youth Club.
Piotrek is one of the most loyal people in sovereign Poland. You could always count on him. He waited a long time for his opportunity and despite this, which is not often the case, he showed humility and patience. He worked it all out himself
– says one of the former members of the SP youth group.
This was the person who most importantly connected. He did not create conflicts, he was open to cooperation, which is not common in politics. Usually the opposite happens: the more active you are, the more they view you as a threat. Piotrek is one of those people about whom you can’t say anything bad
– adds another.
Shortly afterwards, Cieplucha became Zbigniew Ziobro’s assistant when he was a member of the European Parliament. Their paths crossed shortly afterwards: Cieplucha worked in the political office of the Minister of Justice.
In 2021, Cieplucha was appointed as the second deputy voivode of Łódź, making him one of the youngest voivodes in Poland. Two years later, however, he was appointed State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice. At the ministry, he supervises matters related to safety, cybersecurity, judicial institutions and the implementation of the tasks of the Justice Fund in the field of supporting volunteer fire brigades and hospitals. Piotr Cieplucha also held the position of Secretary General of sovereign Poland.
Private warm
In his spare time, Piotr Cieplucha practices running, shooting and swimming. – Unfortunately, it is currently difficult for me to find time for regular exercise, but I try to do it as often as possible – she admits. She loves Latin music and culture and traveling. He likes to spend his free time with friends. Friends say he is the life of the party. He often jokes and can create a cheerful atmosphere.
Since his early childhood he has been passionate about history and archaeology. Interestingly enough, he also collects old maps, which he studies and compares with current reality. In his spare time he discovers the past of the local communities of Łódź itself and its immediate surroundings. He especially enjoyed discovering charming places described in the past by the Polish Nobel Prize winner – Władysław Stanisław Reymont. He works with drivers, reconstruction and patriotic groups. – I like to observe the activity of people pursuing their interests – it always motivates me to work hard – he says.
Deputy Minister of Justice Piotr Cieplucha is not a Member of Parliament, but he plans to change that. – The constituency in which I am running is not easy for the right wing. It has long been said that Łódź is a red city. I think this is a harmful and exaggerated view. There are other negative stereotypes about my city that are common knowledge. I am convinced that the community I represent has the opportunity to gradually increase support among the residents of Łódź. The key to the hearts of the people of Łódź is to restore their confidence in the possibilities of their small homeland. The changes that have occurred in Poland in recent years and its strategic, central location ensure that this area will experience dynamic development – says the hero of our article.
Always tries to help, always answers the phone. He has a lot of empathy. He often helped, even when he didn’t have to. He is a great candidate for MP because he will definitely help people as he has done so far. This is not the egoist, narcissist type. He is a hard-working man who will take advantage of his opportunities
– says one of his colleagues.
Will he be able to find the key to the hearts of the people of Łódź? We’ll know in mid-October. However, one thing is certain: he will not give up without a fight.
