Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński announced that he would file a report with the prosecutor’s office on Friday on suspicion of the commission of a crime by KO MP Garbiela Lenartowicz. The case concerns the time when she was chairman of the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection in Katowice.
Unclear motives for financial support from the Katowice Environmental Protection Fund
Paweł Jabłoński announced at Friday’s press conference in Racibórz that during Tuesday’s public debate with the MP, Lenartowicz asked her a question about the time she was chair of the Provincial Environmental Protection Fund in Katowice.
During the debate (…) I revealed that the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection in Katowice, when Lenartowicz was president, provided state aid to Baterpol amounting to more than PLN 4 million.

As he added, “a few months later, the fund’s president was appointed to the supervisory board of the same company, while still remaining the fund’s president.”
A little later, in 2013, the fund, chaired by Ms Lenartowicz, again provided support for a nominal amount of PLN 6 million. I asked during the public debate whether she received financial resources from Baterpol while she was chairman of the fund. (…) Ms Lenartowicz did not comment on this matter

According to Jabłoński, who stated that he is not currently filing charges against MP Lenartowicz, based on publicly available information it can be assumed that the likelihood of various types of irregularities is high.
“There could have at least been a conflict of interest.”
At the very least, there could have been a conflict of interest. Questions arise about the nature of these relationships. Questions arise about the appointment to the company’s supervisory board. To check this, an investigation should be conducted into this matter. That is why today I am submitting a request to the Racibórz Public Prosecutor’s Office to clarify this matter. In order to investigate whether there has been bribery, whether on the part of persons who could offer personal or financial benefits to the chairman of the fund in exchange for obtaining government support, passive bribery or abuse of power, the exposure of the fund to unfavorable regulation of the fund’s assets
– said Jabłoński.
The Secretary of State added that he was not convinced by the MP’s explanation that its activities were subject to different types of inspections. As he noted, he had not come across any information indicating that doubts about the issues he presented at the conference were being investigated by anyone.
In. supply weapons to Ukraine “we would like other countries to help too”
Jabłoński was also asked whether Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki’s statement on the end of Poland’s supply of subsequent shipments of weapons to Ukraine was not too confrontational. According to him, “there is nothing confrontational about telling the truth.”
Poland provided Ukraine with a very large amount of weapons, equipment and humanitarian aid. We have welcomed millions of Ukrainian refugees under our roofs. We would like to see other countries also help, such as Poland. The fact that there are no weapons transfers today (…) is simply true
– he pointed out.
Unfortunately, there were inappropriate statements from the Ukrainian side. We were honest about how we rate them. We hope that such statements will not occur again. We also hope that the actions of the Ukrainian authorities towards Poland will change and reflect the overall relations between our countries. Taking into account in particular the extent to which Poland has helped Ukraine

Müller: ‘Poland only carries out previously agreed deliveries of ammunition and armaments’
On September 21, in the context of questions about arms deliveries, government spokesman Piotr Müller told PAP that “Poland is only carrying out previously agreed deliveries of ammunition and armaments. Including the contracts resulting from the contracts concluded with Ukraine.”
This includes: the largest foreign contract signed by the Polish arms industry after 1989 – for the supply of the Krab gun howitzer
