“Game is over. I will not be the vice president of Silesia. This is the story of how Wrocław authorities tried to eliminate and corrupt an independent journalist, namely me,” Super Express journalist Marcin Torz said on Twitter.
The reporter admits that the whole story looks almost unbelievable.
In August, I received an offer from an important official to take up the position of vice-president of an Ekstraklasa club for PLN 15,000 per month. She was absurd. Shocking. After all, I have no experience running a club or any other business activity. No knowledge on this subject. Nothing. Because I’m ‘just’ a journalist. I refused. But then I started to wonder how far the Wrocław authorities would go to eliminate me from the media market. Me, a journalist who exposed all of President Jacek Sutryk’s scandals
– reports Torz.
The journalist recalls that he was concerned with the purchase of a house of the chairman of a club subsidized by the municipality, program councils as instruments “to earn money for friends”, the appointment of officials and trusted people to supervisory boards , as well as scandals at TBS, the city zoo and other institutions.
I waited for the situation to develop and decided to play this game. And escalating absurd demands, specify what these people are capable of, just to silence the journalist
– emphasizes Marcin Torz.
Salary in case of exclusion from the profession?
The reporter lists the rates he was offered.
The first proposal was “low”. That is, the aforementioned 15,000 net per month. I didn’t say anything for several days. So they asked what my opinion was (skrin). However, this did not worry them. They quickly came back with a new GIANT offering. 34,000 gross, or about 27,000 per month! (screen). “We want you to be on our side,” I heard
– reports Torz.
The journalist has already announced that he will present further facts in this case.
It soon became apparent that offering such amounts was just the beginning. But more about that in the next episode. See you tomorrow
– we are reading.
