In the hall in Tarnów, where the Civic Coalition’s electoral convention was held, next to waste containers… a loaf of bread was placed. The situation enraged internet users. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki commented eloquently on the issue on Facebook.
PiS politicians also noted the situation in Tarnów.

I always said it was #kulturowadzicz. They have no respect for any national sanctity. Everything for show and drinks. Next time, give Tusk a currywurst and he will respect every, even the smallest, piece so as not to offend the inhabitants of the former GDR

Prime Minister’s response
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki made a very eloquent comment on the situation. The head of the Polish government published a photo on Facebook showing the moment of reception with bread, according to Polish tradition.
It doesn’t stop there. The Prime Minister recalled a beautiful poem by the outstanding poet Cyprian Kamil Norwid, which draws attention to the respect with which Poles approach bread.
To this country where they pick breadcrumbs from the ground out of respect. I miss the gifts of heaven, Lord. (Cyprian Kamil Norwid, My Song [II])

It is difficult to find a more accurate answer to the scandalous situation that took place during the Civic Coalition convention. But can even such a clear message capture the imagination of politicians from the Civic Platform and Consortes who are closed to our national heritage? There may be doubts about this. Sometimes it seems that we are dealing with representatives of a completely different cultural circle, which is hostile to all expressions of our identity.
