Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described Russian President Vladimir Putin as a close friend and expressed his intention to strengthen relations between the two countries. The Turkish leader wrote: social networks X (former Twitter).
“Today in Sochi, I met with the President of Russia, my dear friend Mr. Putin, and discussed the issues on our agenda,” he said.
According to Erdogan, Ankara and Moscow want to strengthen their cooperation, especially in trade, energy, agriculture, tourism, economy and finance.
“Our close contacts with Russia will continue to contribute to the solution of regional and global problems,” said the President of Turkey.
Putin met with Erdogan in Sochi on September 4. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov later said the talks were constructive.
The main topics of discussion were the situation in Ukraine and the possibility of resumption of the grain agreement. Putin admitted that Moscow would return to the grain deal. The head of state stated that this will be possible only after all the conditions of Russia are met.
