The memories of PO politicians are short. At the end of March, in Częstochowa, Donald Tusk proposed a special supplement called “From Grandma”, but I don’t think he took it too seriously himself, because even one of the leading politicians of this party does not remember the assumptions of the program . But is this the first time PO politicians have compromised themselves in a similar way?
Borys Budka, since we are talking about him, was a guest in the program “Game for voting” by Wirtualna Polska and Radio Zet. The former PO chairman was asked a question about ‘grannies’, to which he could not answer. The question was about the age of the child until which PO is willing to pay the special allowance promised by Tusk. Budka had three answers to choose from and chose the wrong one.
But we’ve had similar situations in the past. When Grzegorz Schetyna was still chairman of the PO, he announced his “six-pack”. And it was so groundbreaking, so important, such a game changer that a little over a month later he was having trouble listing the points of his own proposal! But not only him, because amnesia also affected other Civic Coalition politicians.

“The Decalogue of Freedom” of the Platform
During the dispute over the journalists of the “symmetrists”, which broke out in connection with their presence on Campus Poland, I was reminded of … Civic Platform’s “Decalogue of Freedom”. Do you remember what it is? NO? Please don’t worry, PO politicians certainly don’t remember him either.
It was founded a long time ago… More precisely, in 2016, when the opposition organized the occupation of the plenary hall in the Sejm, commonly referred to as “slacker”. PO politicians then wrote with markers on a large card “10 commandments” related to freedom. We could read that “authorities can protect freedom of expression, freedom of the media and the internet, freedom of assembly, freedom of conscience, freedom of civil society, freedom of local government, freedom of culture, freedom of science, not restrict economic freedom, freedom of parliament”.
The guarantee of freedom is the independence of the courts and tribunals
– added at the end.
And what remains of this decalogue? Not much, because it wasn’t worth much from the start. The facts are that in recent months the Platform has broken the “commandments” contained therein, on three main points!
Let’s answer three questions:
Isn’t the expulsion of the so-called symmetrists a violation of the “first commandment”, that is, freedom of speech?
Isn’t the statement to liquidate TVP Info and condemn the journalists who work on the channel a blow to “media and internet freedom”?
Is Donald Tusk’s statement that there will be no places on the Civic Coalition’s lists for people who do not agree to legal abortion until the twelfth week of pregnancy is a blow to “freedom of conscience”?
