Parliamentary critics who believe they cannot push their agenda through the coalition with the Civic Platform are urged to review the proposals outlined by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, as described by government spokesperson Piotr Müller to PAP. The calls were part of what Morawiecki labeled the Decalogue of Polish Affairs, a structured set of policy priorities intended to guide the new government.

Government spokesperson: We hope MPs will engage

Piotr Müller commented on the Prime Minister’s announcement, highlighting the government’s obligation to those who voted in the latest elections. He noted that more than 7.6 million Poles supported a governance model oriented toward balance and actions that reflect the public mandate.

– The emphasis was on foundations for understanding and cooperation on issues crucial to Poland, said Müller. –

As Morawiecki introduced the first elements of the Decalogue, Müller argued that these items constitute the core program pillars around which constructive dialogue and cross-party cooperation could take shape, especially on matters important to the nation.

– He added that MPs who feel unable to meet their program goals within the coalition framework with the Civic Platform should consider the new proposals presented by the government.

An idea for the first term of the Coalition of Polish Affairs

The Prime Minister indicated that, in line with a directive from President Andrzej Duda, the composition of the new government would be announced within seven to eight days. The objective was clear: to craft a government that transcends party lines and serves as a balanced, citizen-focused administration. The emphasis remained on form and substance built around the program rather than party labels.

Poland has seen voters support a range of parties and coalitions, and Morawiecki stated that the most valuable elements from different programs have been integrated into a cohesive Decalogue of Polish Affairs. These program pillars are designed for the near future, aiming to positively affect Polish lives despite ongoing challenges and crises around the country.

– The Decalogue is described as an initiative for the first term of the Coalition of Polish Affairs, focusing on the issues most relevant to Polish citizens while safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and independence.
