The parliamentary committee reprimanded PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński for his words about Tusk, which were uttered at a PiS picnic in Stawiska in July. Kaczyński went on to describe Tusk as “an enemy of our nation”. “Think of this redhead, because this is the biggest threat to Poland today,” Kaczyński said at the time.
The decision to punish the PiS president with a reprimand was taken at the meeting of the parliamentary ethics committee on Wednesday. Commission Vice-President Monika Falej (left) said in an interview with journalists that Kaczyński was reprimanded for the words spoken at a picnic in Stawiska (Podlaskie Voivodeship) on July 3. The PiS leader went on to describe Donald Tusk as “an enemy of our nation”. “Think of this redhead, because this is the biggest threat to Poland today,” Kaczyński said at the time.
In the justification, we clearly state that the standards of politicians should be as high as possible, especially those who hold the position of MP or party leader. MP Kaczyński should work on standards, co-create them so that they are as high as possible, and not destroy the habits of parliamentarism
Fale said.
‘The committee does not act objectively’
PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek was asked by journalists in the Sejm about Kaczyński’s sentence.
The Ethics Commission does not act objectively, it is very biased, it has not considered many applications submitted to it, which has also drawn attention to the scandalous statements made by many opposition politicians
– he said.
The Sejm Ethics Committee also addressed the words of Łukasz Mejza, a non-associate member of parliament, who described the LGBT community as a “rainbow scourge” on TVP Info’s “What’s going on” program on June 12. For these words, Mejza was also reprimanded.
As Falej said, both deputies did not appear at the committee meeting, did not justify and did not explain.
