On Monday, the Council of Ministers will approve the formulation of all referendum questions, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced on Sunday at a press conference in Stężyca (Pomeranian Voivodeship).
Tomorrow the Council of Ministers will adopt the full wording of all the questions, all the different referendum questions, which we will put to the next meeting of the Sejm
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said this during a press conference in Stężyca on Sunday.
Referendum questions
On Friday, Law and Justice began presenting referendum questions. The first question – as announced by PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński – will be “Do you support the sale of state-owned enterprises?”, and the second – as reported by PiS Vice President, former Prime Minister Beata Szydło – “Are you in favor of increasing the retirement age to 60 years for women and 65 years for men?”.
The third question was asked by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on Sunday and reads: Do you support the acceptance of thousands of illegal immigrants from the Middle East and Africa, in accordance with the forced relocation mechanism imposed by the European bureaucracy?
The referendum was to be held in conjunction with the elections that President Andrzej Duda had ordered for October 15.
As PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek told the PAP on Friday, “The resolution of the referendum will be submitted to the Sejm and will contain four questions that will be tabled systematically in the coming days.”
A two-day session of the Sejm will take place on August 16 and 17; according to the schedule, it will consider a motion to order a nationwide referendum.
In June, Deputy Prime Minister Kaczyński declared that the issue of relocation of migrants in the EU should be put to a referendum. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki confirmed the intention to hold the referendum together with the parliamentary elections in the autumn.
