The New Zealand government imposes new sanctions on 17 companies and 6 citizens of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. This is stated in New Zealand’s statement. MFA.
Restrictions will be imposed on three Russian Federation citizens and three Belarusian citizens “who are involved in the deportation of Ukrainian children from their families to Russia”.
According to New Zealand Foreign Minister Nanaya Mahuta, the list of sanctions includes 11 enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex that develop, manufacture or purchase weapons, electronic components and technologies that the Russian side uses “to fight Ukraine”.
Sanctions will also be imposed on six Belarusian entities, including financial and credit institutions that support the Russian Federation.
On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request for assistance from the heads of the LPR and DPR.
