The Alicante Provincial Council is immersed in the process of preparing next year’s budget, which corresponds to 2023 and is expected to be fully implemented in December. In this sense, the socialist group sent a series of proposals for inclusion in the budget project; among them is the creation of a game to help municipalities due to the increase in energy costs, which is measured at 20 million.
The socialist group also advocated an allocation of 5.2 million euros to the new Provincial Energy Savings Plan, as well as a 10 million financial fund to support companies and a 25% increase in the Tourism Board budget.
Toni Frances, spokesperson for the socialist group in the Provincial Assembly, also accused PP of paralyzing the administration and leadership within the Alicante Provincial Assembly, reminding that the implementation level of the spending budget for 2021 is 61.91. %. “Globally, there is a reduced level of budget execution, with a negative trend from 65.07% to 61.91% achieved in 2020,” the socialist spokesperson adds, “with these data we are ahead of the worst levels of budget execution. According to the statement from the socialist group, as of September 30, 2022, when liabilities of EUR 154,863,816 were accepted for the current financial year, representing only a 32.32% percent of execution relative to total loans.
Toni Francés also openly defended the Municipal Cooperation Fund and reiterated the socialist group’s request to withdraw the contentious-administrative appeal against the Consell Agreement of 17 June 2022, which approved the Plan FCL Core Financing Sector.
