The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda and the Generalitat Valenciana announced the first call for assistance aimed at Youth Rental Support in the Valencian Community. This initiative, published in the DOGV, seeks to facilitate emancipation by providing affordable housing options for young people. The following details outline who can apply, the conditions, and how to submit an application starting today.

The youth rent allowance can be requested by any adult applicant who meets the eligibility criteria, including age up to 35 years at the time of requesting aid, and who fulfills the necessary requirements.

86 percent of young people in Alicante cannot leave the family home due to insufficient income

Young applicants interested in the Youth Rental Coupon must satisfy the following requirements:

  1. Be of legal age and not exceed 35 years at the time of requesting assistance.
  2. Be a Spanish national or a national of any EU/EEA country or Switzerland. Non-EU residents must be legally residing in Spain at the time of application.
  3. Have a rental agreement or transfer of use for a home or room, or be in a position to sign one within two months after aid is granted.
  4. Have a habitual and permanent residence, verified by a certificate or registration form.
  5. Applicant and spouse must not be closely related by blood or first-degree kinship to the host.
  6. In no case may the total benefits received exceed the rent or transfer fee according to the contract.
  7. The monthly rent or transfer fee must be equal to or less than the limits listed for the corresponding municipality.

These are the areas corresponding to each municipality within the Alicante province.

Rental allowance amounts to 250 euros per month. The total benefits must align with the contract’s rent or transfer fee, without exceeding the stated limits.

How the Youth Rental Bonus affects Income Tax returns

Inquiries about the tax implications accompany the program. A poster explaining access terms is available for reference, along with additional information.

Required documentation for the Youth Rental Coupon application includes a full rental agreement signed by both parties with clear rent amount and payment terms, and proof of residence tied to cadastral references. If an individual cadastral reference is not available, the applicant may submit a certificate from the Regional Directorate of Cadastre or other appropriate cadastral documents. Additional details may be needed to verify the residence.

  • Official note from the Real Estate Registry confirming the property and its description, including the number of available rooms.
  • A single registration certificate showing the habitual residence of all residents at the time of request, presented for assistance purposes.
  • Proof of work history demonstrating at least one regular income source for the applicant or co-residents, with income limits set at three times the IPREM (as applicable) or equivalent self-employment documentation.
  • Documents proving payment of rent or transfer fees since January 1, 2022. If a contract is shorter than the request date, payments are credited from the contract start date and receipts must be submitted with the application.
  • If applying for a new aid or changing the bank account, an auto-debit authorization form must be completed to designate the payment account.

Recipients must justify the use of the youth rental voucher
