Economy launches a seal to promote industrial safety
Pushing for a safer industrial landscape in the Valencian Community, the Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Consumption portfolio unveiled an awareness initiative under the banner #SiSeguridadIndustrialCV. The campaign aims to educate residents about the benefits of keeping facilities in optimal operating condition to prevent and limit risks, safeguard goods, protect the environment, and, above all, prioritize people. Officials noted that strong industrial safety can act as a powerful economic driver. A regional congress on this topic is planned to take place in Alicante in October.
Empar Martínez, regional secretary for Sustainable Economy, Productive Industries, Trade and Consumption, emphasized that every commercial building, residence, school, restaurant, hospital, hotel, and industrial site houses facilities, devices, and equipment such as elevators, escalators, automatic doors, air conditioning systems, fire extinguishers, stoves, spark protection devices, and lighting. Across all uses, it is essential to meet the minimum industrial safety requirements.
Martínez also highlighted the importance of creating a dedicated industrial safety leadership role. A new professional profile is being defined with the required duties, responsibilities, skills, and knowledge to coordinate and manage the safety of facilities within buildings or organizations.
This initiative is supported by the Consell Valencià de Coordinació de la Seguretat Industrial, which includes Femeval and Fempa, the Associations of Technical and Higher Industrial Engineers (Cogiticova and COIICV), and Control Society, with active participation from Conselleria. Other participating bodies include Aseival and social partners CEV, CCOO, and UGT.
To make the importance of facilities safety tangible for citizens, Femeval has worked to translate industrial safety concepts into practical, accessible terms. The campaign uses the motto: “Industrial safety is something you don’t see. But someone must ensure everything runs so nothing happens to you.” It presents industrial safety as a protected, unseen guardian watching over daily life, including elevators, automatic doors, air conditioning, electrical and gas installations, cold storage, and fire extinguishers.
For broader reach, the campaign is complemented by a YouTube video and a set of audiovisual pieces. A 30-second advertisement was produced, alongside three 15-second clips in Spanish and Valencian.
Vicente Lafuente, president of Femeval, stated that the video campaign launched on July 11 and runs through September 8, with nearly one million views to date and an average daily view rate of over 35,000. This momentum signals strong public interest and engagement with industrial safety topics.
As part of a second phase, Femeval will release a series of five 18-minute podcasts featuring interviews, guidance, and recommendations for industrial safety professionals and residents. The broadcasts will include contributions from members of the Industrial Safety Coordination Board and will be accessible via the campaign website and social networks.
Luis Rodríguez, chairman of Fempa’s board, announced preparations for the Valencia Community Industrial Safety Congress. The event brings together all stakeholders in the industrial safety ecosystem to highlight the benefits of proper design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and inspection of safety facilities in peak service condition for the safety of people and property.
Aseival’s president, José Luis de la Rosa, announced the II Industrial Safety Awards for the Valencian Community. The awards recognize legal entities and individuals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to safety excellence and high standards in industrial quality. The ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, November 3, at the Real Casino Antiguo de Castellón.
Nieves Romero, dean of COIICV, presented enhancements to the SI-CHECK WebApp, a self-diagnosis tool that helps companies assess compliance with industrial safety documentation and facility maintenance requirements. The program will also include audits at centers serving people with disabilities within the Valencian Community to ensure adherence to safety regulations.
