The Coordinating Council for Industrial Safety, of which the Council of Colleges of Industrial Technical Engineers of the Valencian Community (COGITICOVA) is a member, aims to promote, coordinate, and prioritize administrative actions on industrial safety issues. Its current president is the dean of the Alicante College of Industrial Technical Engineers. The Valencian Community College of Industrial Engineers (COIICV), the Valencian Association of Inspection Bodies (ASEIVAL), the Valencian Metallurgical Business Federation (FEMEVAL), the Metallurgical Business Federation of the Province of Alicante (FEMPA), the Confederation of the Valencian Community of Business Association (CEV), and the main workers’ organizations in the Valencian Country, UGT and CCOO, participate in this coordination to strengthen safety across industries.

This 2023 action plan centers on advancing industrial safety through a series of initiatives carried out in collaboration with COGITICOVA, COIICV, ASEIVAL, FEMEVAL, and FEMPA. The plan emphasizes awareness and proactive safety measures within the Valencian Community, underscoring the critical role of industry safety across the region.

Key components include the III Valencian Community Industrial Safety Awards, which recognize exemplary safety practices. Details are provided by ASEIVAL on their dedicated awards platform. In addition, efforts include the development of an interactive 3D simulator that serves as an industrial safety game to educate stakeholders.

Broadcast media campaigns and television outreach are planned to widen the impact, alongside informational breakfasts held in various environments. There will also be industrial safety awareness days, aimed at improving practices in management and modernization efforts within the industrial zones of the Valencian Community, as well as dissemination events across universities in the region.

The plan also promotes cross-disciplinary collaboration in industrial safety and offers training for safety managers through a certified course aligned with IMAI0001 standards. The main actions for the 2023 financial year, available through official project channels, include dissemination conferences at universities, review sessions for distribution days and EGM records relevant to responsible individuals, and ongoing media promotion of the safety campaigns.

Speakers for the various sessions are drawn from professionals with substantial experience in education and industry, ensuring practical insights and authority across topics. Content creation efforts focus on delivering useful resources via the Agiliza Industria Portal, an access point designed to centralize guidance and materials for industrial safety initiatives.

“Si-Check” application

As part of early 2021 actions within the Industrial Safety Promotion Plan, a self-diagnostic application was developed to help companies assess documentary compliance and the ongoing maintenance of their facilities under applicable safety regulations.

The tool is straightforward to use. Users enter basic organizational information such as business name, tax identification number, location, and workforce size, then choose the facility type to begin the check. A help-enabled web interface supports users in real time, and the platform permits adding multiple facilities of the same type within the organization for a comprehensive review. The Si-Check app is described and supported by regional safety bodies to ensure ease of use and accessibility for organizations seeking to verify compliance and improve safety practices. For more information, see the official materials provided by the coordinating bodies and project partners.
