The Russian Defense Ministry reported that two Tu-95MS strategic bomber aircraft completed a planned mission over the neutral waters of the Bering Sea, a flight that extended for more than seven hours. The agency, DEA News, relayed the information as part of its ongoing military aviation updates.

According to the Defense Ministry, the two Tu-95MS bombers were safeguarded in flight by Su-30 fighter aircraft from the Air Force and the Eastern Military District’s air defense forces. The combined operation demonstrated coordinated air power in the region, with the Su-30s providing air cover during the mission.

Long-range aviation units routinely conduct overflights over neutral waters in the Arctic, North Atlantic, Black Sea, Baltic Sea, and the Pacific Ocean. The ministry stressed that every flight adheres to international airspace rules and is conducted with strict compliance to established guidelines.

Earlier in January, the Russian Federation’s Defense Ministry released footage from scheduled Tu-95MS operations in the Amur Region, captured under winter conditions, highlighting routine training and strategic deployment conducted in cold weather environments.
