Two individuals have been detained by National Police agents on charges of trafficking narcotics in Elda. The operation unfolded after a confidential tip pointed to a key location involved in the sale of heroin and marijuana, located in the Caliu district of Elda-Petrer.
Law enforcement teams identified the residence where the alleged distribution activity was being centered. A period of planned surveillance followed, enabling investigators to confirm the main suspect’s involvement as the occupant of the property. The stakeout phase was meticulous, aimed at verifying the network and timing of drug transactions without alerting those targeted by the operation.
During a routine phase of the operation last week, officers executed a targeted arrest as the suspect appeared to be preparing to distribute cannabis. Officers recovered 100 grams of cannabis near the person, a quantity deemed consistent with street-level distribution activity.
Following the arrest of the principal figure, authorities obtained a warrant to search the residence believed to house the rest of the illicit material. The search, conducted by the Elda-Petrer National Police Team, yielded a substantial find: 900 grams of heroin were discovered hidden inside the dwelling, alongside equipment and measures consistent with drug distribution and sales. The discovery underscored the scale of the operation and the level of organization involved in transporting and marketing the narcotics.
On the same day, investigators detained a second individual who appeared to be linked to the principal suspect. This second person was brought to the police station for questioning and later released after giving a statement. The joint actions of the officers highlighted the cooperative nature of the network and the potential for additional leads that could be pursued in ongoing inquiries.
As a result of these actions, the director or lead figure of the operation was transferred to the competent Instruction Court No. 3 in Eldadec to determine the appropriate custodial measures. The case underscores the vigilance of local police units in disrupting drug trafficking networks and protecting the community from the harms associated with narcotics distribution.
