Gratitude from the President of the Eurocaja Rural Foundation and Beneficiary Associations

On October 6, Toledo became a beacon of solidarity in the fight against ALS, drawing more than 4,500 registrations and setting a new participation record. The total also includes funds raised through the Dorsal Cero campaign, which closed on Sunday, October 13, amplifying the impact of every contributed euro.

The generous response from people across society yielded a sum of 86,700 euros. The entire amount will be directed to the seven beneficiary organizations involved in this edition, all tirelessly working to combat ALS. These organizations are ADELANTE CLM, ADELA Madrid, ELA Castilla y León, ADELA Comunidad Valenciana, ELA Región de Murcia, ARAELA, and CanELA.

The success of this Solidarity Race reflects more than a simple commitment to the cause; it stands as a vivid display of societal solidarity. The endorsement of participants, sponsors such as Eurocaja Rural, MINSAIT, GRUPO EULEN, and GRUPO UNITEL, cooperating entities, public administrations, and the security forces and bodies of the state played a crucial role in reaching a new milestone in the battle against ALS.

Gratitude from the President of the Eurocaja Rural Foundation and Beneficiary Associations

The president of the Eurocaja Rural Foundation expresses gratitude for the widespread participation of the public, the support from public administrations, and the strong response from sponsors, partners, and volunteers. The objective announced on September 23 was surpassed thanks to the effort and sensitivity shown by everyone involved. The sense of accomplishment comes from the shared awareness and unity in facing the adversity caused by this disease, a collective achievement that will provide beneficiary associations with more resources to combat ALS.

The leader also notes the enduring remembrance of a colleague who passed away from ALS in April and honors all those who have lived with the disease. The message is clear: continue this initiative year after year so that those affected by ALS are not alone, receive broad societal support, and know that together they can live with greater dignity and a better quality of life.

The beneficiary associations have underscored the visibility this race brings and the importance of the funds raised, which will be used for treatments and research. The president of CanELA (Cantabria) and the national confederation ConELA highlight that such actions help integrate patients into the social welfare system by supporting daily services like physiotherapy, speech therapy, and psychological care.

The president of ADELA Comunidad Valenciana adds that these actions form the foundation of their ongoing work. They enable essential programs to continue and expand, including socio-healthcare support, physiotherapy investments, and caregiver programs, with confidence that future years will allow further growth through continued funding.

A collective effort that transcends the race

This year, the Eurocaja Rural Foundation achieved a notable rise in fundraising, reaffirming the aim to accelerate research and improve the lives of those affected by ALS and their families. Every registration, every donation, and every act of support from entities, companies, and administrations has been essential to the success of this initiative.

The broad social, institutional, and corporate participation places this solidarity effort as a national reference in the fight against ALS. Registrations have arrived from all corners of Spain, underscoring the widespread reach and impact of the campaign.

Social networks played a significant role as well, with prominent figures from culture, music, sports, cinema, politics, and media sharing messages of encouragement and proudly displaying the race’s official shirt.

Gratitude also goes to the generosity of hundreds of anonymous participants who took part in the 1photo=1euro action and to educational centers and collaborating social groups in the 100% solidary initiative. Both campaigns, conducted on social media, concluded on October 13 and helped boost the final fundraising total.

A commitment that does not stop

The Eurocaja Rural Foundation remains firmly committed to people affected by ALS and their families, with a clear objective: ensure that every person living with ALS feels supported and accompanied on their journey.
